I think people ignore how much closer fans are to the field in these new parks. Oakland Coliseum, you can get up, buy a hotdog and return to your front row seats before a foul ball will reach you. 

It also doesn’t even interfere with visibility at all. It’s easy to forget it’s there unless the top rope is right in your line of sight.

The stadiums are designed to distract you no matter what age you are, even when players are at-bat. Vendors, stuff on the video boards, food and drink...the teams/orgs themselves are doing what they can to keep you from paying full attention.

It’s very possible to make wheels strong enough to not be bent/cracked when wrapped in low profile tires. Since the engineers knew the exact tires that would be installed on these wheels, there’s no excuse for them to not account for that.
