This car looks cool but you don’t want to be player 3 in a Maserati at any price.

The Mazda 3 is below average, and the Honda Civic is near the top. I’m not saying that Mazdas are unreliable but you can’t pretend that they’re as reliable as Hondas. It’s less likely to go 200k on regular maintenance with a Mazda--it certainly happens with well-maintained examples.

You’ll be happy you got the Civic when you go 200k+ miles with only regular maintenance. That’s just not as likely with a Focus ST or Mazda 3.
