I’m one of those I will keep a car till something major breaks.

It feels like the designers were tasked to give the executives 3 choices. So they made one really boring, one really ugly and one which was the design they wanted to be chosen.

Absolutely NOT the Hummer - that just screams “douchebag” in several regions and languages.

Hey, you can get it for $52,729 if you trade in the exact same car!

I believe they use some type of Croc sandal

They ruined a perfectly stupid car.

Speed isnt everything.i drove from Houston to Fairbanks Alaska. Took 10 days but it was worth it.

It makes perfect sense - the more of the principle we pay off now, the less of an impact higher interest rates will have when we refinance. It’s pretty straightforward.

I’ll drive 4-5hrs for work as well, though it fairly rare that I have gigs that close. Beyond that, normally I am flying. No FF miles gathered driving my car! And given I live in Southern Maine and the Gulf Coast of FL, 5hrs is either NYC or not out of FL yet anyway. And I never drive to NYC, it costs as much to park

Had a business trip from southern Ontario to Evansville, Indiana a couple weeks ago.  Just over a 10 hour drive plus two half hour stops.  Flight was supposed to be ~ 16 hours.   My last flight from Toronto to Indianapolis took over 12 hours.  I'd rather drive.

I don’t know if his is true for anyone else, but if I ever try and sort craigslist by lowest price, its always just pages of scam used lots advertising the monthly payment/no money down, or price listed as $1. And it was like that well before Covid. Made searching for a lemons car way too big of a time commitment than

An old jeep at a good price will always be a project. You just have choose one that fits your abilities.

Agree with your assessment. Time to order Fe2O3 license plate.

I don’t understand the hate. This thing is in 100x better condition than any of David Tracy’s $500 project jeeps.

The power companies are terrified of this transition. The infrastructure upgrades needed to support it are going to be massively expensive and take a very long time to recoup. If they are mandated by state regulation to run off a minimum percentage of renewable power then they know most people are going to charge at

Price and features is what steered me and the wife from getting electric this go around. To get a similarly equipped electric it was going to be around $12k more and it would still be missing something I considered essential, a decent tow rating. Range wasn’t even a deal breaker for us. We bought an SUV because a

The trouble is, a Model T was lightyears better than a horse. An EV is not lightyears better than a reasonably fuel efficient ICE car, and IMHO objectively MUCH WORSE than a good PHEV for most people.

I know it’s not exactly what you’re asking, but some (particularly mid-size) trucks have cabins that are way smaller than their overall vehicle size would indicate.
