Not bad, but prepare to pay a 1€/km outside US for fuel alone.

4th-gen V8 4WD 4Runner. I’m partial because I have one, but it really is my answer as well. It’s not as wide or long as a LandCruiser, but is just as capable in most respects and is still incredibly comfortable for long journeys on or off road.

I would hypothesize that anyone buying an Equinox probably doesn’t give a shit either.

The real killer with all of these suggestions: Deval drives 40K to 50K miles a year. The real solution may end up being something comfortable for the driver and really fuel efficient - and a rental for situations where he needs more passenger or cargo capacity.

The CC R line is a great ride for a Fortunate Son who was Born on the Bayou.

I’m going to throw this out here, please stick with me till the end:

I’m doing what I’ve come to refer to as the ‘Ten Year Overhaul” on my 2012 Wrangler. It started out of necessity with a bad transmission input shaft bearing and has grown into a winter-long monstrosity of a project. It’s the epitome of ‘let me hit that while I’m in there’ mentality.

Brought home this 1946 CJ2A last week. Not sure if I’m in over my head here, but I’m excited.

The Ford 300ci I6 has a crappy flowing head. Some say its the only weak link in the engine. It has a head bolt pattern of 4.480" front-back, and 4.240" left-right. The GM LS heads flow great, and they have a bolt pattern of 4.400" and 4.330" respectively.

These are much better than a Citation.

Dodge Charger.

I can dig it. I could make something cool out of this.

Maybe GM should be asking themselves why Porsche can charge $180k for a 500 hp GT3 but GM can’t charge $180k for any Corvette.”

I was just thinking that as I started to read this article. The sales numbers for the NSX are lack-luster probably because of the territory it lives in. Is it a great car?.. yes. I’m not sure most people would take the NSX over a Huracan or a 911 Turbo despite it costing less. I have the belief that it should be

All the other full size SUVs have converted to minivans without a sliding door. Most don’t even come with a low range anymore. And that’s fine. The Sequoia offers a major differentiation for those of us who want more capability. And I think there’s a decent size market for people who want to tow, haul, and go off road

I saw your comment coming: “(I know here come the mall crawler and nobody off roads these things comments, but perception and feelings sell SUVs not statistics)“

Land Cruiser is basically a HD 4Runner. They’re the nearly the same size. But the LC has a bigger engine and drive train and is 1500lbs heavier. And $80k.

I actually liked that line. It is not really that backwards if you look at the trend of trucks betting more “off-road-y” and “overlanding-y” in that the old IRS setups were crap off road and often inhibited the larger SUVs from being seen as more capable off road. (I know here come the mall crawler and nobody off

You may be right. Also, I think the taller hood and roof are doing a lot to give the sense of swelled proportions:
