The raptor would be high on my list, along with the TRX.  These things are highly specialized for going 60+ on trails that just about any 4x4 could run at half the speed.  Nothing wrong with that but there are very few places (and virtually none around me) where that kind of capability can be used legally or safely.

Of vehicles I can actually afford, this would be my choice. My wife has a ‘19, last fall we drove it a 1000 miles to new mexico, air down the tires and drove it up the most challenging trails we could find for a week then aired up the tires and drove it home. No problems, and just as comfortable at doing 80 mph down

they were the first people I thought of when I saw the QOTD, been following their stories since the early 90's. Of course if you didn’t have to live out of the vehicle something smaller would be a lot more convenient.

I put one of these in my truck. I had concerns about running an electric heater unattended, but at least this has a thermal circuit breaker if it gets too hot. Doesn’t eliminate the risk, but does make me feel a little safer. Just keep the area around it clean.

I’d be curious what people are trading in. Is this full-size/mid-size truck owners realizing this is all they need, or car owners realizing a small truck is a better option than a sedan?

Pic failed the first time

fixing the rear body on my YJ.  I had done a “competition cut” years ago after bashing one of the panels into something.  Trying to get back to a more stock look.  And before anyone mentions it, the coilover mount is temporary.

especially a 2 door off-roader that’s nearly the same size as the 4 door 4runner.

a fuel injected 4.0 from a newer wrangler would be an easy swap and would really wake this thing up.

I agree it looks a lot bigger than I expected, even if the dimensions are very similar to the wrangler. compared to the wrangler the bronco seems more squared off which I think makes it look a lot bigger than the more tapered front of the wrangler.

sounds like the filter crushed after trying the regular filter wrench, he might have been hesitant to run the engine after that.

If I had to guess, I bet the shops under bid the work to get it, realize they can’t make money on it, so now they just turn it down.

Based on the hype (here and elsewhere) when this thing first came out, there were a lot of people that seemed to think the bronco would offer wrangler capability and open top fun with better handling (thanks to IFS), and lexus (compared to jeep) quality. Apparently, at least for this person, it didn’t pan out.

This, I’d much rather have the first MY car with a carryover drivetrain vs a legacy model with a new motor/transmission.

that’s what happens when you take away a meth burrito

Uber for Corn (sorta)

My friend had a dodge M37 that was like that. He also had this high end IR impact wrench that had roughly twice the “nut busting” torque as forward torque. He was unaware of both those (later) significant details when he went to pull a tire off.

Your comment sent me down a rabbit hole on JD’s website, I grew up on a farm but my dad retired years ago. While the price is astonishing, according to their website that thing can harvest 7,200 bushels of corn an hour! at $6/bushel for corn this thing can harvest it’s list price in a little over 23 hours of

There’s one at Kennedy Space Center too, Atlantis if I remember correctly. I took my kids on the tour, it was incredible seeing one up close.
