Can we discuss the active toxicity of these players versus the phantom passive toxicity you’re implying is present?

For all those a**holes who keeps telling people how to play the game.
Except this isnt in Ranked/Comp mode, this is in quickplay and arcade modes where the goal is to have fun.
A person doesn’t pick Widow to throw the game, unless that’s some deep meta shit going on intended to give Widows an even worse black eye.
I thought I might have been missing out by not getting Overwatch, but apparently not.
The easiest people to blame are the snipers, since they’re by a rule disengaged from the objective.
You guys keep saying that it only matters in higher levels of competitive play, but how exactly would someone who isn’t good with a particular character and only uses that character get to those higher ranks to begin with? Maybe it’s an issue of the game not rewarding the right things that Blizzard should address?
That may be true, but it’s also unfair to put that only on Widow or Hanzo and ignore the people who are bad at any other role.
It will be obvious to YOU. As I said: The average person doesn’t have a clue as to what’s going on. It’s not obvious to them.
Not griefing, throwing the game, cheating, or actually being toxic. For playing the way you want.
Random people online are not your friends, they are fellow paying customers.
You need to be getting picks at a pretty high rate to be useful on widow and that just usually isn’t the case.
I do this all the time. If there are assholes in a session, I’ll immediately pull out my Progen Tyrus, let them blow that up a few times, and see how they like the bill.
Maining a hero in Overwatch is like maining Rock in Rochambeau.
There’s something equally infantile and absurd for people instantly abusing report mechanics because other players won’t cow to your whims.
Not everyone shares your mentality of playing a game meant for entertainment like a job...
Holy shit, I need that D.Va skin.
The only reason I started playing D.Va (I’ve only had the game for two months, I think?) was because I kept watching these worthless nerds pick her IMMEDIATELY as soon as the screen popped up, and then I’d watch them contribute NOTHING to the match.
It’s one thing to be annoyed at the pick. It’s another to report when they aren’t breaking a single rule, and for Blizzard to actually support and uphold the chat ban.
Maybe take a look at the definition of the word “selfish”, and re-examine which one of us is angry because others won’t change the way they play games.
