They could, but as they are owned by a publicly traded company (Take-Two), they have a responsibility to the shareholders to not take unnecessary risks and use resources with a focus on the greatest level of return.

I can definitely understand that argument. At the same time, I truly want to lay out how much I really like Noire. It was fun, and innovative and it’s been a blast to revisit when I’ve popped it in.

Sure they do, but they wouldn’t be teasing something new with something so vague. They are definitely getting us talking by making us think of Red Dead.

is it monetarily sustainable to make things like LA Noire?

I like LA Noire a lot, and found parts of it genuinely groundbreaking but if I’m gonna strain the budget for a game I want something that makes me feel the way the John Marston arc did or characters as memorable as Brucie or Roman.

That’s usually why companies like RockStar stick to what works, because both GTA (Especially GTA) and Red Dead are guaranteed sellers.

GTA V and RDR are two of the greatest games ever made, and LA Noire was a huge disappointment, so I’m gonna have to disagree.

I hope they aren’t learning the wrong lessons, because that would be a major loss for future GTA titles. Rockstar strikes me as the kind of company that takes its off-franchise material and incorporates bits and pieces of it back into the flagship. The leaps and bounds they made in world-building, weather, and sound

Statistically speaking you might as well be the only one. RDR is greatness that has much potential for further greatness.

LA Noire is no Red Dead or GTA V

I guess another Red Dead wouldn’t preclude something new being released (there was just a one year gap between Redemption and LA Noire), but still.

Am I the only one who’s hoping there will be something a little bit different coming out of Rockstar? I like the company better when it’s taking a chance on new things (like LA Noire) in between releases of the flagship franchise.

Now playing

In the 90s, that one line would have been met with a barrage of battle raps in a matter of hours by everybody from Nas to Jeru the Damaja. It cemented the irrelevance of NY when we all realized that the city no longer had an answer.

Yeah, I’ve sadly got to agree with others that this is basically true of NYC. And I’m saying that as a huge fan of NYC hip-hop who kind of misses its days of relevance.

He would have been losing until the present meltdown.

He didn’t say “Delayed indefinitely” He said “As much as we wanted to have Squadron 42 for this year, it’s not going to be this year.because from the polish we need to do, it’s still going to be some time.”

Ok. Lets look at what they skipped over. How about this scene.

No, ignoring good news and reporting bad news = Hate.

Cool with game-breaking Wall Street folks, but also okay with people who aren’t white and men.
