That’s where I’m coming from. I hate butchering names. No one can say my last name, and I don’t mind because I know I butcher people’s names. And that’s so not their fault, that my shitty reading comprehension or lack of.

Sure, but I don’t think VonQueso’s original post was asking anyone to prove people of color acted in films back then. I am a cinephile, I’ve been complaining my whole life about the lack of poc in films, or when they are they’re often stereotyped. But being a cinephile I also want authenticity in film. I’d actually

I actually liked all of those, save frontal. That would be a cool nickname though.

That is a fuckin awesome/pretty name. Never heard it before. I took Latin for 6 years, don’t remember much of it. Also, fuck that boss! I refuse to call Tyga anything but Tiger, but that's different lol.

Maybe 20 years ago, I appropriated the name Dweezil as an insult. After learning that’s what the Zappa’s named their son and I thought it sounded so cool (but also like a combination of dweeb and weasel) that I just say Dweezil all the time. That's the power of a good, interesting and unique name.

I don’t get it. My one and only gripe about “weird” names is that I’ll say them wrong. I don’t really judge people for their name if it’s different. I probably judge people with “regular” names more often.

“Ant” is a sweet translation for a name!

Which I totally agree with. They could easily have a poc playing a character very self aware of how shitty and unfair the industry was at that point in time and actually have the character be a major part. I just don’t get the hostility. It’s not as if you were saying crazy stuff or being offensive. Idk, sometimes I

I like “weird” random names. Fuck a Kevin, Chris, Michael. That’s some ordinary ass unimaginative shit!

Holy stuff, you’re having a day like I had yesterday. People are set trippin’ off of something I didn’t see an issue with at all. I think I’ll spend the weekend away from this site, crowd seems extra touchy this week.

I don’t think I’d ask anyone questions while they were reading a book. If it’s a book I’d read, I’d probably say something like “that’s great book, I think you’ll enjoy it” which doesn’t really require a response. I tend to not like bugging strangers in public places. Though if I’m stuck in a public place and get

I just hear the theme from Jaws in my head looking at all those metal teeth.

I wonder if those red binders she has are full of women?

Chafed, bloody nipples and pants pooping seem to be the worst things to happen from running.

I have just gotten used to cutting people slack on their learned behaviors. Plus I just don’t really get offended by anything. People can have whatever opinions they want, I may or may not agree. If they're being cool we can talk it out but I'm not gonna bash people for not being PC. So long as they're not setting out

Me too. I can’t stop saying "that's retarded" and now people frown hard on that. I get the PC thing, I rarely set out to offend people, but I mean I've been saying "that's retarded" for 25 years, I can't unsay it, and I kinda don't want to. I'm not going out calling people with physical/mental handicaps "retards", but

:) I just like you more and more!! I am slowly learning what not to comment on some of these stories or how to word them better. Or if I am getting countless comments of people calling me names, I need to take more time to reflect because I clearly screwed up somewhere. You and some other people I’ve made friends with

I just see you comment on here a lot and you often recommend my posts and your comments to others are almost always funny and well worded and polite. On this thread in particular I said some things that unintentionally offend some and I rightfully got slammed for it, so I just appreciated your comment and honesty and
