Fucking hell. Calling this a code of conduct is a blatant attempt to mislead. It’s essentially a multipart legal waiver being disguised as a CoC.

“The law of demand in economics is inescapable, you can not get out of it. Raise the price of anything and fewer people will buy it.”

If they made a Nextwave movie I would cry with joy.

Eh? Does chai actually have (enough) caffeine? In most places in Asia-Pac that I’ve had it, it’s been perfect for sending me straight to sleep

What was the age range of the kids you saw in the theatre - thinking of taking my almost-five year old for this

OMG yes, whatever happened to him? He was a joy to behold

Thats’s a Venn diagram with a lot of overlap, if not just being three concentric circles.

Because it’s absolutely impossible - I’ve said this before, but an utter lack of self-awareness is mandatory requirement in Gamergate/ MRA/ Redpill circles.

I thought so too, but looks like they’ve managed to jump that hurdle by portraying it as some sort of “Reasonable Measures”

Nope. They’ve somehow managed to square that circle, just take a look at the top 2-3 threads here.

But, but... American Exceptionalism!

Yeah that line kinda threw me as well. My headcanon is that Wakanda does the polytheistic thing well - if there’s another god out there that they reckon fits well, and Hanuman - strength and loyalty - fits better with the Jabari than some of the others monkey/ ape gods that I know (ie, Sun Wukong is a trickster, while

Oh piss off with your disingenuous misreading. The original post said “anyone who thinks they need a semi-automatic weapon for their own personal protection”, not “for hunting”.

Oh please. You know what it is already - 6 words, points if you can say it with a straight face

Marvel has been crazy confident about it’s movies for a while now - I think it was Winter Soldier or Civil War, where they basically had critics screenings weeks ahead and explicitly went “Nah, no embargoes here. Tell everyone what you thought.”

I don’t want to be “that guy”

And again, that’s why the second part of my post was there for - you have a Code of Conduct, one that establishes what your process should be when something happens. What does your investigation involve? What is your interim action? What is your “right way”?

The standard of a court of law should not be the standard elsewhere. All else being equal, why should an organisation privilege the status of one member (the alleged perpetrator) over that of another (the alleged victim)?

Seriously, THIS. What the hell happened to all the comment threads - I’m normally on AV club, Kotaku, and Gizmodo and in the last 3-4 months it’s gotten noticeably worse.

Yeah, the green colour scheme doesn’t make much sense, but maybe they reckon that her normal colour schemen is too similar too Iron Man’s?
