I believe that by well-intentioned, the OP is referring to the non-troll who is ungreying the troll. For example, if I - out of a well intentioned desire to show what trolls are up to/ shooting down a troll - wind up ungreying that particular troll, and consequently contribute to the derailment of a particular thread.
