1. If you're equating reducing the already limited roles for people of colour (as in Airbender) with Elba in Thor, you're part of the problem. The point here is not for faithfulness to racial origins, it's for increased opportunity & visibility.
Yes, because that is the "definitive" Marvel-Thor death. He's never died or been resurrected ever after or else, & you are the gatekeeper of what is acceptable.
Relax everyone, GenericScreenName is here to explain "black culture" and "black features".
Do what she did it. Set up a Kickstarter. Or is it that there is no limit to your lack of drive, ambition & all-around sitting-by-the-sidelines ability?
What's stopping you from doing it?
I think we differ (duh). Someone claimed A as the only possible explanation - I requested for proof. You also claimed A, stating (in your words) that general evidence obviated a need for specific proof. To which, I responded that that may have been an overly simplistic view as it ignores some real world factors.
What you're stating ignores a whole lot of real-world issues, including, but not limited to, entry barriers and the role that marketing (esp. to children) plays. Just because you have a better or even a different-but-wanted product doesn't make you a market leader.
You're making awfully confident statements, but I don't think your citations prove what you think they prove. You say that it has been "showed time and again" - where has it been shown?
...well, little girls kind of like that aesthetic these days, for better or for worse.
You should know that the plural of anecdote is not data.
We're waiting for you to write it. What's stopping you?
I see the problem. You went to a crap university.
That sequence... the first time I ever saw it, I just went Fuuuuuck (Clay Davis style)
Would be interesting to analyse Maybe it's generic "pick on the most Other". Bunch of guys - pick on the funny coloured kid, or the one with the accent, or the one who, y'know, is a little "off".
Cite evidence, or GTFO
It might surprise you to hear this, but while abuse happens to a lot of people online, it does not present itself equally. Motivations differ. Delivery differs. The level-of-threat differs. I love something that looks at troll behaviour and online abuse generally, but it in no way precludes the need for focus on…
Try being black and hearing how often you get called a N*gger while playing COD. Any documentaries about that? Nope
That's no cry for pity either, I hate that about me and I try to do better.
Word. Plus he had the coolest cyberpunk shades since Morpheus in the first Matrix movie.
