I didn’t recognize him. He hasn’t aged a bit in 30+ years. Fuck, he looks almost younger. Must be that newfangled photoshop skin therapy.

Hollywood will never learn. There has never been a successful adaptation of a Japanese anime/manga (aside from Edge of Tomorrow, which is the exception that proves the rule, tbh).

After years in development hell, it seems like there might be some progress being made on the western Akira remake.

I really like this interpretation of Adrian Toomes and his conflict with Tony Stark, though I like Spectacular Spider-Man’s version of it better: Toomes worked for Oscorp and Osborn stole Toomes’ flight technology for the glider and fired Toomes; Toomes got angry and thus swore revenge as he decided to become The

They do not learn.

what the FUCK is sony thinking? have they not learned their lesson? let Marvel Studios handle all things Spider-Man related and lean back and rake in the cash, it’s so simple.

Yep. The whitewashing was really only a symptom.

I can’t believe each new bit of footage from the movie is looking worse and worse than the last.

Beta Max should have won the format war over VHS...

As someone that grew up with VCRs, I have a hard time understanding why anyone would be nostalgic for a medium that AWFUL, even back when they were the dominant medium for consuming movies. I honestly believe that most people that claim to miss VHS tapes didn’t grow up with them.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the best Star Wars movie after Empire Strikes Back, it was way better than Episode 7: The Force Failed to Keep Me Awake, and I cannot wait to watch it again.

Note how all the old/legacy characters are also wearing their classic costumes rather than any more modern ones they may have been wearing before they disappeared? Spider-Man doesn’t have the extra details/glowing eyes in his current Parker Industries suit and it has the tiny spider logo and armpit webbing of his 60s

I would like to remind everyone that this is not censorship and that Playtonic as a private business has the right to express itself as they see fit. If they do not wish to include voice work by a controversial figure in their video game that is well within their right. Jon’s free speech was not violated in any way

He’s mostly wrong. He’s right that people shouldn’t just look at the RT score, since that score alone is not indicative of whether a movie is good or bad unless its like, severely positive or severely negative. Most scores between 30-80% are more or less tossups, since that means 30% - 80% of people liked it,

Eh, I have little regard for Rotten Tomatoes, but not for Ratner’s reasons. I’m not a fan of a platform that can be gamed by over-reactive fanwankers, which RT is.

Yep, he tried his best to ruin the X-Men franchise. It took two movies (First Class and Days of Future Past) to correct his mistakes in the franchise and save it.

I still haven’t forgiven him for X-Men 3, so

By skewering the characters until they are unrecognizable from what people know about them.

Wah wah wah, more anti-intellectual “all the critics are wrong” talk from another spoiled cry baby Hollywood fuckboi.
