Good on paper, but horrible execution as it just ends up being a messy mish-mash of jarring tones and half-baked ideas.

Well yea because Hollywood marketers are dumbfucks, which is why most people ended up taking the movie at face value upon release without reading into it more and slammed it for being “stupid”, thus slamming themselves. Verhoeven has stated repeatedly that it is a satire.
But Paul Verhoeven DID call it satire...
Yes, but look closer, though, and it feels like it’s McCarthy-era America, Nixon-era America, Reagan-era America, Bush-era America, and Trump-era America all over again.
Starship Troopers was awesome though.
Visually, this looks really fucking cool, but overall this movie so far feels...kinda lame, to be honest. The writing doesn’t seem natural at all and that 20 seconds of philosophical talk in the middle about cyber enhancements seems so out of place and feels forced. The director said he hated all the philosophical…
I’m pretty sure Jeph Loeb confirmed it though.
I dont want full on cameos in the movies or vice versa, just a couple of sentences.
Wrong on that second point.
With a good-enough telescope you can look at the moon and see the remains of the lunar landers sitting there.
Sounds about right.
Hail Satan
Am I the only one who thinks Darcy was awful and annoying and that Kat Dennings was a bad actress? She seriously brought down the first Thor movie pretty hard from being a potential Shakespearean epic to just another Marvel farce. Seriously, all the segments that took place on Earth were really fucking dumb.
Yes but it has so far in most reviews I read never been an actual bad point about the show, and for what I’ve seen I agree. The show should not necessarily have cast an Asian in the role, but they definitely should have gotten someone with more charisma, or more martial arts skills, or both. Finn Jones is boring.
Holy shit, Finn Jones sounds like a whiny child.
“Yea, its for the fans, not the critics, a lot of whom have probably gone to film school or at least done some rigorous academic studies and analysis of film and probably know what they are talking about when it comes to doing critical readings of films moreso than armchair comic book readers, but fuck them, its for…
Fans appreciate well-made content. See FX’s Legion.
This movie was far stronger for divorcing itself from the rest of the X-Men movies as much as it did, imo. No need for callbacks.
It’s telling that their knee-jerk reaction to an anti-nazi channel is to angrily oppose it.
It’s offensive because he’s supposed to be the best but it never fucking shows in the actual show. His fight scenes are actually atrocious. And it’s because they hired a guy who knows jack shit about martial arts so they had to do a lot of fancy camerawork and editing to hide that fact and the fight choreo is boring.
