One time the lugs were so damn tight, I resorted to putting my hydraulic floor jack under the end of the tire iron to try to apply the necessary force. And apply force, it did! It began to lift the entire front end of the car, followed shortly by bending the tire iron.

At 18 stops I don’t think I’d call it “continuous” either.

I assure you, the Earth will go on spinning with or without any further interference from us.

Seems like opening the doors instead of the windows would be an even more obvious solution to the problem. Still holds quite securely as I observed this gentleman demonstrate this past weekend.

This is probably a publicity scheme, and it worked. You helped them get thousands more eyes on their ad than otherwise. They’ll probably end up selling it for $18k or something, way less than the ad listing, but way more than if they just listed it for the market price and let it languish in obscurity.

Also LAN support!

I’m more of an AN-225 man, myself...

Three years ago I was shopping for Astons and the cheapest I ever saw was $30k for over 100,000 miles. There’s no way this should be listed for any less than $50k right now.

I have no idea why people are doing “this time last year” comparisons. The price of oil was literally negative at one point in 2020. It was clearly anomalous. I don’t have “real” data, but I was paying ~$3.70 in February 2020, and under $2 in April 2020 for 93 octane. Did people just expect it to stay $2 forever? It’s

I have a TDI Sportwagen and could not be happier. I averaged over 49 mpg for 400 miles when I visited my parents for Thanksgiving.

I have a friend who’s main questions about new cars these days are cybersecurity related. Any salesman who interacts with him without at least a Cisco certification is going to be utterly unprepared.

Also gas is only like 30 cents more than it was in Feb 2020, so I don’t know what everyone’s freaking out about? It seems like a normal trend to me.

I’m also in this camp. Anything cheap enough to ask for as a gift I can just buy for myself any old day. Christmas gifts just force me to *not* buy things for a month and a half so everyone can feel good about handing everyone else fifty bucks or whatever. It’s sort of farcical really. All I really want to do on

How about building some damn public transit infrastructure so that driving isn’t the only way to and from the bar, instead of making my car pull over because I’m wearing sunglasses?

The problem is you’re not even allowed to do this kind of stuff on a race track. Aimless cocking about is strictly forbidden. There just isn’t any legal outlet for this kind of thing if you’re an average joe.

I have three cars with three very different clutches, so I probably have a better handle on adapting to clutches than most folks. Even then, every time I try a new one, it’s like “aw heck where’s the bite point...gently, gently...”

Let’s say you have a GTI that is plowing wide - what are your options? Understeer or understeer”

The thing about noise-cancelling headphones is that they cancel the noise regardless if you should be hearing it or not.

I’m so, so lucky and happy that I bought a car in January 2020.
