Taper was also a problem for me also. I was wearing a set of legs that I had borrowed from a (male) friend. They were tight at the top and loose in the knees. If I ever get back into jousting, I’m taking a cue from the mid-14th century and making the cuisses (sp?) out of leather.

PS: Riding a horse with cuisse plates sucks.
