They're obviously not at flight quarters or they'd be wearing float coats and cranials too. I think it was someone's weird idea of what looks snappy. Totally out of regs it seems to me. They should've been wearing matching crackerjacks equivalent to the officers that received the PM.

Makes me think of when I used to play this and thought it awesome. I reloaded it using DOS box and it was funny to see how crude it is now. Probably still more realistic in some ways than WOWs?

Kind of coincidental that a Chinese company just signed a 99 year lease at Darwin, Australia’s port so the U.S. Navy will pay port fees to a Chinese company when visiting.

I recall James May said on Top Toys that the original designer wanted Lego colors bright to avoid kids making war toys. Of course now they're major line is Star Wars so that might be why it's gotten more grim.

I’m glad you didn’t post this one. And note they are not Royal Marines - I recall reading they were some other unit that was asked to do this demo without any training/rehearsal.

After I described a ghost holding me down my wife explained the Japanese have a name specifically for those kinds of ghosts. Kanashibari. Pretty cool.

Better than getting killed by a Daewoo Lanos!

By eliminating the drop tanks and enlarging the stub wings the Kilo will have wider cargo bay with same width of echo.

It's because every avail shitter was needed for the fleet so HMX 53s replaced by the MV22s.

Taiwan does this every year. The highway is pretty close to civilian structures too from the look of it!

My boss was a Marine tanker and there was just a firm belief that eating or bringing apricots would cause some kind of mechanical disaster. Nothing to do with the squirts though that would be bad!

You can ask your mother but she won't give it to you.

I would just add that there will always be things to improve/modify the aircraft so these things are not unexpected. Even 50 year old airframes have technical directives issued on them because some flaw is discovered. Articles are always interesting. Good job.

I went to OCS with your Plt Cmdr Carter? He was in audience when Gen Zinni was talking about it and he pointed him out. Funny.

Don't bring any apricots on board. Gen Zinni has a great story about being on the last P7 to evacuate Marines from Mogadishu and having it breakdown halfway to the ship. Had to flounder there until another one could tow them the rest of the way.

Oh he talks about doing exactly this in making the decision.
