What's an even bigger pain is the stringent Australian quarantine inspections that the Aussies require. A LOT of man hours trying to clean every speck of American soil off the aircraft in every nook and cranny. requires r&r of components and opening of panels you don't do very often.

It's all good. No need to file a hurt feelings report. ;)

Wow ad hominem really old bean?

In your world confusing Harriers and Hornets may not matter. But if you're going to say bold statements you better know the difference. We all read the article. It's nothing close to your original assertion.

You said Harriers. I said no. I was right. We've always had RAF exchange pilots flying in FA-18s. They've added a few more.

LST? I thought I was old. Actually my float still had one too. And then again an LST didn't just have a well deck it could also beach itself and offload that way. I think us old guys have to realize gators can no longer get within sight of shore - all the Marines have to launched from over the horizon.

I did a WestPac with 13th MEU on an LPH. No well deck. and our HMM didn't have Harriers either.

You forgot the AAAV but otherwise as I've pointed out before it goes back to the OMFTS and EF21 doctrine that is used to justify the existence of the Marine Corps as established by the National Security Act of 1947.

And I'm telling you that isn't possible. All their Harriers are in the boneyard being used to fix ours.

there are no RAF pilots flying Marine AV8Bs. We don't have enough for our own pilots let alone their's too.

Japanese are actually very good drivers because their licensing is very expensive unlike in the states where people think it's their right.

And another thing. Why are these yahoos wearing flight suits? Is there a fire hazard in the control vans? Marine aviators only wear flight suits when they are on the flight schedule in a real aircraft. Otherwise it's Camis or Service just like all other Marines.

the dream of every mech. a squadron without flight suited egomaniacs in charge! LOL.

Marines use enlisted and they don't get wings either.

Eddy Current is a NonDestructive Inspection method used to detect fatigue cracks and other flaws in airframes and dynamic components.

the only Marine sqdn with H60 is HMX-1 who use them as alternate Marine Ones. There are none in the FMF.

Marine aviation is bought and supplied by the Navy. We are in the Naval Aviation Enterprise together. USMC aircraft are technically owned by COMNAVAIRFOR. Marine air wing maintainers and supply go to Navy schools for training.
