It takes a certain level of intelligence to be able to comprehend when you’re in over your head. If things don’t work out for him he’ll never understand that he was the problem.

The fact that he has decided to take the weekend off after his inauguration leads me to think that he still has no idea that the President is a 24 hours 7 days a week job...even when you take a break to go to Hawaii, or back to your ranch, or wherever.

Their only hope is that a kindly singing nanny will make them some play clothes out of the White House curtains.

That and I think he’s in the early stages of dementia, so he sticks close to the familiar.

I think something people who do not follow things as closely as others aren’t considering is the idea of the president having a full mental breakdown. Louis CK has a (now old) bit about how it was to see Nixon resign- pretty sure we’re all about to see that again, tenfold, plus Twitter.

He has not been a person to do staged events for the sake of doing staged events.

Based on nothing but a hunch, I have a theory that Barack and Michele made a deal and that he owes her some time to chase her dreams for a while now. I can see him being a professor (or maybe doing some speaking engagements/books now that the kids are grown and almost out of the house and he could dour a bit more)…

He’s already on record as saying diapers and such are women’s work and he didn’t do that. He supplied the money, the mothers* supplied the parenting.

I think Trump just confuses the terms “sold out” and “not selling”. It would explain his multiple bankruptcies, at least.

There are DC dress shops that are openly contradicting him in ads. They’re pissed because they were already worried about their inauguration sales (which I’m sure are down compared to ‘08 especially), but then to have the president-elect say that they’re sold out? Lies are terrible for small businesses. Sad!

A drone flying over the National Mall during a presidential inauguration would get shot down too fast to even get a picture.
