I grow my own tomatoes. Heirloom varieties--a lot of plants, so I can a lot of them. Yes, they can’t be beat but shitting on store-bought is bullshit. I live in CA and it’s not hard to get a decent tomato at the grocers. Also, here’s a tip as to picking them--Don’t jab the point of your finger into them, press the…
Making it to the NFL as a player means that you’ve passed all the auditions, payed your dues, and made the cut. So you get paid. Cheerleaders are not stupid, they understand that they’re working a low-paying job with little benefits. That’s not the point, which is to make the step into success: get into show business…
I worked in a deli in Chicago, and we carried beer cheese (kaese) that was a little on the strong side. We were careful about keeping it wrapped tightly so that it wouldn’t funk up the case and get into the other stuff. Perhaps there are different levels of ripeness that are available for beer cheese, some not as…
I’m sure that MickeyD franchise owners are doing fine but I find it pretty weird that corporate can just come up with an idea, and you’re making free burgers for people who won’t come your way again. Can any of them opt out?
That’s what I don’t understand. They’ve got the votes locked in already. It’s not like they have to do anything like this to get more votes. The cruelty really is the point, isn’t it?

Except for the “christian musician,” will there be any women in attendance or is this a strictly stag event?
Nothing better than Chimayo peppers if you can get them. There are some imposters out there claiming to be from Chimayo. El Potrero trading post sells dried chiles and chile powder from the area. They have a website. It’s right next to the Santuario de Chimayo.
I stopped by a fruit and vegetable stand in Northern NM and there were tables of red ripe chiles being tied into ristras, and hung to dry. Usually, dried is how they’re used. I bought a ristra of fresh, ripe peppers, put it in a cooler and drove it home where I roasted them on my Weber kettle.

You wouldn’t think that it would be hard to replicate these foods outside of Chicagoland but I can attest that places that claim to do so fail. We have several joints here that claim to offer authentic Chi but they always miss their mark.
We had a family restaurant and one of our regulars, a really nice gentleman, would order a slice of apple pie and a pork chop, to be put on the same plate. A few people noticed and wanted the same. It was our only off-menu item. We called it a Mr. B’s after its creator.
Who thought that toting her around the UK was going to work out fine?
