He must really need the cash.

My guess is that it is the intersection of "wholesome" and extremely low stakes conflict with a dash of schadenfreude. It's not as if the dancing is much to write home about- the actual dancers I know prefer So You Think You Can Dance. Maybe people like the anticipation/potential of famous people falling on their

I loved the Stardust film- it is one of the few cases where the film script deviated from the source novel in a few significant ways, but I enjoy both equally. So I am not opposed to live action renderings of Gaiman's stuff, but I think animated makes more sense in this case, especially with it falling on the heels

"Baby I Love You" may be my favorite Aretha Franklin song- it reinforces my feeling that lyrics matter less if the delivery and arrangement hit the mark. This is also a damn fun song to sing. "(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone" is also a great addition to the Aretha Franklin Baby Songs canon.

I've been hearing great things about Scott Lynch recently. I'll have to add his stuff to my ever-growing "to-read" pile.

Based on this, it sounds like I need to revisit The Golem and the Jinni - I got through the first quarter or so before getting sidetracked. I was enjoying it, but it hadn't grabbed me enough to entice me back instead of starting something new. I'll give it another go.

I just finished The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne Valente. I picked it up based on a review Patrick Rothfuss, a favorite author of mine, had posted on Goodreads. Like me, he wanted to read something good, but needed a break from the thoroughly depressing fare that is

This song is linked with summer camp nostalgia for me as well. I learned it as a sing-along before I'd ever even heard the recording.

I still buy plenty of music- I probably average an album or two a week. It's mostly digital though- I'll buy a physical copy of absolute favorites or when I'm buying directly from the artist, so most of my purchases wouldn't register on SoundScan.

Same here! It's amazing how frequently "He's large" still comes up in our family jokes.

And forgetting to mail back the "no thanks!" card so they get stuck with some awful album they would never have bought on their own volition. (Which they could conceivably send back, but never do)

I also submit:http://www.azlyrics.com/lyr…
which contains:
I didn't mean to miss your birthday, baby
I wish I'd seen you blow those candles out
WAHHHHHHAAAA

Hell yeah. I loved the Vacation movies as a kid, but in clicking on this article I realized I would be much more into an odd-couple road trip movie with Charlie Day and Chris Hemsworth (preferably as Thor). Even if it was terrible, I would probably find it delightful.

What do you suggest as the best entry point for A.C. Newman's solo stuff? Does it make sense to check them out in chronological order? Funds will be low for a while and I couldn't decide which one to pick up based on the song samples- many of my favorite bits of NP songs might not even show up in a 45 second
