That was kind of a mystifying process. It went around in circles for a while- clicking “Claim Your Account” took me back to the same page over and over. The login popped up in a completely different tab, but it looks like I have now been Kinja-ed.

I get what you're saying here, but serial adultery is a form of emotional abuse. What Whedon did may not be as severe as the wrongs of Polanski, Allen, and Gibson, but it is more than just not practicing what he preached. It wasn't one indiscretion, uncovered years after the fact or a situation where Cole is bitter

The entirety of Queen II was made for this sort of thing.

Dragon Attack! Wait, wrong episode. There's a Queen song for every Games of Throne.

I remember seeing versions of the Brontes' books with cover art designed to look like the covers from the Twilight series. Not sure how that worked out. Seemed like prime grandma gift territory.

And Dave Matthews Band. In the fall of 1997, I lived across the hall from two dudes who had a 3 disc changer containing the first 2 DMB albums and one by Rusted Root, which they played on a loop for the entire year.

They had some really fun, catchy stuff. Doctor Jones was a favorite track of mine.

Looks like we had similar taste in music in 1997. Add in Letters to Cleo and Tanya Donnelly and that's pretty close to my list.

True enough. However, that awful sweater is the one that is currently (or soon to be) available for purchase.

I have a hard time believing that anything that's been written for the new musical could surpass the music written by Bowie, who was denied the rights by Orwell's estate. Either they were swayed by the greater sense of political/cultural urgency or they are just ready to cash in now.

Nah, Boston is full of Hillary voters- that one goes too. He would move it to Wyoming, where they earned his trust. There's more open space there, much much better for running. It's gonna be yuge.

Kafka on the Shore was a good starting point for me, but I agree that he may not be for everyone.

Right. "We have proof that he has legally purchased things previously" is not an adequate defense if someone is accused of shoplifting. Also, it doesn't seem like people are understanding what a wide gulf there is between "they want me to do it" and "they let me do it."

Yeah. They are fine. When I was a kid, I was bummed at first that the Muppet Babies show was a cartoon and not done with the puppets from Muppets Take Manhattan. This seems like it splits the difference- the look of the puppets, but with the extra flexibility of animation.

It also leaves some hope that he could potentially recognize the problem, seek help, and avoid repeating the cycle with a new partner.

Thanks. And likewise- I'm very sorry that you went through such a horrible experience, but glad you got away and are able to speak about it so openly and eloquently. Even when people are stuck, hearing stories like yours can help them start to believe that their situation is not acceptable and escape is possible. It

It is impressive- I spent six years trying to get away from an abuser who was a hell of a lot less powerful and charismatic than Johnny Depp. When I was feeling sheepish about my situation, a friend told me that it takes most victims an average of seven attempts to successfully sever an abusive relationship. It's not

They are the folks who, when asked about their musical taste reply, "Oh, I like everything! Well, except rap and country."

For me? It was a year of living across the hall from 2 dudes who blasted the first 2 DMB albums and Rusted Root on a loop during all waking hours. No more. I don't hate them, per se, but I would not choose to listen to them.

I like their later stuff too. Solid melodies, lush instrumentation, sardonic lyrics. Nina Persson's other project A Camp is also quite good, the album Colonia in particular.
