I have a 2014 Stryker I got last year and it’s basically the same engine. I’m looking into FJR1300ES to purchase in a year or so. Yeah...I don’t know how ABS feels...since just about everything that Star has doesn’t have ABS, I didn’t look into their other models or current line-up.
Did the “I hate unions” and “defund the EPA” comments been made from the GOP neandarthals?
The feeling you get when you see your rear tire in your peripheral vision is horrifying. What Star bike did you get?
Each Engineer has a standard of what they consider reliability... a VW and a Honda engineer have a different view of what reliability is. If it was a part that was manufactured by a company that is used both in Hondas and in VWs, well then they’d have a universal MTBF....easy as that... By your logic, a Ferarri and a…
Not something I was doing, but You can’t compare a headlight bulb to a washer noozle and find out that MTBF for the the bulb is greater and then say “ah.....yeah that car is less reliable than this one, based on two different parts”. All parts on all cars have tolerances built in. That’s how engineering works.…
All I need is until next year July, or at least until 2017... Then I’ll get rid of it. So far what I’ve been seeing is the early failures...but hey...mechanical stuff fails all the time...
Look behind him....a guy in full gear. This definitely has a smell of being a motorcycle event, and not “riding unsafely”. Want to know what’s un-safe riding? A state that doesn’t have helmet laws, in which my friends that are hospital workers call motorcycle riders “organ donors” and where they extremely encourage…
I doubt it. You’re probably thinking of the old 2005.5 MKVs. I’ve had this car inspected by a Indy mechanic every year and it’s in solid shape. As it stands it seems that that year VW used cheap tensioners, so the chain would skip, and wouldn’t necessarily cause valve damage. It’s the same problem with the S4 that…
If car companies didn’t do refresh of their models every 4-5 years they’d go under really really fast. Even with the reliability of other cars....people want new shiny things..
12 year unlimited mile rust warranty....
You’re just wasting money at that point.... all VW spec is 10k and if you send it to the lab... it’ll probably say that it’s ok for 12-15k.
I pay about 2 bucks for a gal of Diesel to put into my soon to be recalled 2013 Passat TDI. I fill up early in the morning at about 6am...and always pick the gas station with one island....and yes....hate the wait during busy hours...but I love coming up with my motorcycle...I can fill up myself with a CC!
You’re correct on the reliability aspect...and that depends on what the requirement is. VW might have a different and what that time is (Dependability, or reliability, describes the ability of a system or component to function under stated conditions for a specified period of time.), and also what individuals think as…
When I said that about street racing, didn’t mean you as the sole reason. It’s hard to talk to a group of people but only returning comments to one person. There is a good number of both car and motorycle owners that own modified cars/motorcycles and take them to the track..and there’s also a number of owners that do…
As a Cruiser Rider, I’d actually like to give you praise on how this site is ran. I own a 2014 Star, and while I enjoy reading these articles, my next motorcycle is probably not going to be a sportsbike (had a GSXR and the sitting position wasn’t comfortable for me) but probably a Sports Cruiser. I like coming back to…
I think this whole article was more of a “Hey guys, if you’re going to be riding your bike on the streets, and not the track, Yamaha has something that you’ll always be using”. If you’re street racing with a S1000RR, congratulations, you’re the reason motorcyclists get a bad rep, and not only from car owners, but…
That intake manifold gasket is pretty easy to replace.. I meant Other cars as in Other than other VW Models. VW vs. VW reliability is pointless...also it’s pointless to just say “reliability” because that word means different things to different people. Some people go to the dealership when their car is at 100k miles…
Honestly it’s oil changes every 10k miles, so I just pre-buy all the fluids, and I have a indy mechanic near me for the bigger jobs. In january this year, we had a pin hole leak in the radiator...apparently it was happening for a year, but because it was so small and no puddle under the car... I dind’t notice it until…
That’s weird... We’ve had our 07 rabbit for 8.5 years and put on 122k miles and haven’t had any problems that are not experienced on other models. We also have a 2013 Passat TDi with 60k miles, and no problems on that either.
