Wouldn’t it be correct to say “buy a non-compliant TDI”. Being that TDI owners are religious to a fault (guilty)...they’d actually do research. From what I understand it’s the 1st Gen EA 189 engines. 2012-2013 Passat TDI’s sport a 2nd Gen engine, and I think all VW Golfs, Jettas, Bug, hav ethe urea after treatment…

I have the 2013 TDI....so...I’ll wait until 2023 when the TDI will be available.

Earlier in the year I had my 13 flashed with new ECU update that didn’t allow the turbo to be fully engaged when it was extremely cold, and fixed some emissions stuff.... so it looks like VW is taking a hit, but your car might just get flashed and you might lose ~3mpg. I’m disappointed that someone at VW thought this…

Does it have Urea after treatment? I think you should be good... my 2013 Passat is not a culprit...except it’s no where near what a passat should be...but it’ll do.
