I’m just saying that in terms of “median age” of pregnancy, that is much higher. Very few people can get pregnant without “help” at that age because menopause so most people that age aren’t getting pregnant. So, yes, it is “that” old. Two standard deviations from the mean old in terms of having her first baby.

Hmmm...I don’t think a black chef who is told to only make “black food” is going to think “Does he just want me to make black beans and then burn everything I cook?” Anyway, that’s just not how you describe things, especially since there is a term that connotes food originating in African-American culture, it’s soul

But almost everyone would call it “Chinese people food” or “Thai people food” or “Italian people food.” I think if you call it “Black food” that would be more confusing than adding a qualifier of “people.”

Yeah, but then they’d cry about it and a GoFundMe account would be created and they’d make a few hundred thousand off of those that hate to see a good “White Business” fail because of the out of control PC culture.

Because plenty of white, yellow, brown and red people where I live eat the same kind of food. (Fried chicken, fried okra, chicken fried steak, cornbread, hush puppies, sweet potatoes.) It’s not “black people food” or “negro food”, it’s “dinner”. She could have easily specified which dishes she wanted cooked without

Read the comments above. I think it’s spelled out clearly why 1) context is important and 2) soul food is not black people food but food that is from a traditional southern culture (not exclusive to Americans of African descent).

Eh..... wake me when they decide to do a 20 episode order of ‘Night Court’.

I’d be satisfied with a Rosario spinoff.

Ooooooh. Ethiopean. I’m all drooly now!

My feeling is, if you are sufficiently ignorant of history and context to the point where you say things that are indistinguishable from things an actual bigot might say, your lack of awareness isn’t really a defense against the accusation.

Seems like an open and shut case to me. It’s not fair to only serve tourists to black people.

She frankly came off better with “Shit happens” yesterday.

I can’t stand it I know ABC planned it
But I’m gonna set it straight, this Carey-gate
I can’t stand Dick Clarks new years rocking eve when I’m in there
Because your New years ball ain’t so New years clear
So while you sit back and wonder why
I got this fucking dancer by my side.

I mean, it kind of does apply to real life, if you’re a woman. I’m just baffled that there are women out there that don’t talk to other women about things other than men. Like, that’s a solid percentage of my conversations, despite being married to a dude.

I wasn’t even critiquing, I agreed with the piece.

I wonder how this will play out in reality. At birth, sex (not gender) assignment is made on the basis of your genitals. Your genes are (usually) not known to the people making the assigning (although they do presume that your genes would be consistent with your genitals). Nor are your internal organs. I could see

There are literally millions. I would love to see high quality, big budget films about American First Nations history. The Sioux uprising would make for a fantastic historical drama, but probably no one wants to show that President Lincoln was a mass murdering villain.

One of my favorite movies this year was “The Handmaiden.” It’s a Korean film, starring Korean actors (duh), and it’s loosely based on a Victorian England-based novel called “Fingersmith.”

I’m all for yet another remake of Joan d’Arc, this time with all-Black cast, spoken in Jamaican patois.
