She was on fire last night. Unapologetically calling people out who are calling for moments of silence and praying, but doing nothing else or actively fighting against measures that would make it harder for people to get guns. Basically screaming common sense at people. It’s worth watching the whole thing.

God bless Sam Bee. She really is the rightful heir to the Daily Show—even if she’s doing her own show now. She’s the person who I look to now for her take on news events, who I can count on for catharsis.

The fact that “responsible gun enthusiasts” - especially the owners/managers of a gun shop who are supposed to be the goodest, most responsibleist, and most level-headed of all the gun tribe - enthusiastically market a weapon that’s just been instrumental in the deaths of 50 civilians in a non-combat zone reeaaallly…

I think a lot of people assume there’s more to buying a gun than there is. It’s easier than buying a car. It’s easier than buying a washing machine. It’s very, very easy. It’s shocking to a lot of people.

Samantha Bee should’ve gotten The Daily Show. I heard an interview with her where she said she didn’t know why they didn’t ask her. Luckily she’s got another show, but she was a long time correspondent and great. If Jessica Williams didn’t want it, why not give it to Sam Bee?
