Latinx always just makes me think of like... Spanx in Spanish

Since I was born in Mexico I go for mexicana, but if I were born here and my parents were from Mexico I would like to be called Americana.

Chicano is specifically used for Mexicans who were born and raised in the US. Edward James Olmos would be considered Chicano. My mother, who was born in Mexico, would not be a Chicana.
