That last line should be a tagline to all posts, regardless if it’s about Matt Lauer.

he should follow his own advice - skew his views, and keep his lips together.

12 weeks is the norm in Mexico...in Mexico! Let that sink in.

Now I wanna see this movie, so clearly this publicity stunt was brilliant

Can we take a moment to talk about how cringey it is to say you can “cause a lot of” fallout because you’re a “huge film fan / amateur film maker”? Lol ok

They weren’t trying to bilk money, as they showed here. I’m all for holding mega corporations responsible, but only when it is reasonable that they are - not just because. They sought this ruling because it discourages appeals and further lawsuits. What this ruling did was establish that they weren’t responsible (as

“just the idea of what they did left me feeling ill.”

as a dairy-farming lady; i would like to invite you over to the land of diary goat milk. goaties are cuter and cleaner with milk that is easier to digest!

Okay, so you recognize that the theater chain wasn’t at fault for the shooting. It’s not their fault that these families filed a lawsuit against them. It’s not their fault the plaintiffs refused to accept a settlement. And now they’ve agreed not to attempt to recover their legal fees, meaning they spent a shit ton of

My BF has been trying to convert me to almond milk but....it’s not milk. I was raised on a cold glass of real milk and I don’t want to give it up.

Coconut milk FTW!

Dumb. They never expected to get the money. They wanted to be left alone for something clearly not their fault, and that they were being sued for because they had deep pockets.

Their lawyers are saying they were just using the 700k as a bargaining tool to get the appeals to stop and didn’t intend to collect. Since they are not pursuing the money any longer (and maybe never were), and in fact the original lawsuit was bullshit anyway, I hereby grant you immunity from guilt in patronizing your

What do you mean by ‘bilk’ the families of the victims? What exactly did they (Cinemark) do that left you unsettled? I’m honestly asking, because I’m not quite following you.

Still sad Parks & Rec is over.

and I would have supported them had they not tried to bilk money from **the families of shooting victims* but just the idea of what they did left me feeling ill.

“Trying to recoup exorbitant expenses having to defend themselves against frivolous lawsuits” is not “try[ing] to bilk money from the families of shooting victims.” This was ultimately a tactic Cinemark was using to pressure the litigants to agree not to appeal the ruling. Even getting here was very costly for them,

Why are you boycotting them? They weren’t trying to ‘bilk money out of shooting victims’. They tried to, and succeeded in, getting the shooting victims to drop their meritless lawsuit against them.

How would this have been a case of Cinemark “bilking” the plaintiffs? What does Cinemark need to apologize for?

you guys need to apologize somehow to avoid fallout.
