I’m sure you think you’re making a good point.

I’m not someone who says we need to get rid of guns. I actually like guns and feel there are many places for them in our society, but I would LOVE to see the second amendment repealed. Just having that in place robs us of having very necessary conversations about guns in this country.

At what point to the two things you compared actually equate to one another in a way that is meaningful to this discussion?

Republicans live and die on false equivalencies. Notice that they don’t do too well on the Internet on forums like this, where they actually have to defend their shit.

I think that is the only way that a republican will soften their stance on anything, when it is in their home or family. Got a gay kid, now I support gay rights. Have a kid with a disability, now we need better services, schools, and funding for those with disabilities. And on and on.
