My poor Alexa... She must be starved for attention since my interactions are similar.

I have read several versions of the coverage on this story, and yours is by far my favorite! I like to think both of my Alexa’s are in cahoots and actively plotting against me. I live alone, so they’ll have to make due with me either talking stupid to the cats or cursing a lot as I attempt home improvement projects

There’s still Tom Hanks and John Oliver on the good side, at least for now...

Yep. God damnit, God.

Tom Hanks is the only one left

I remember saying that if I ever find out that Morgan Freeman and/or Mr. Rogers #metoo’d anyone then we’d just have to erase men and start over. It’s been a good run fellas (not really)

Like the US has any place to talk? Can women get refugee status from Texas? Iowa? Alabama?

It’s not paranoid to think this is where we could end up in the US. There’s not much middle ground for those who want to punish abortion/ spontaneous abortion. You either want women to have access to safe healthcare or you want it to be a crime.

leaving the issue of lack of abortion access aside, it is truly horrifying that a woman can be jailed for a miscarriage or a stillbirth-- as if they had any control over that?

But she has boobies.

But those were men.

That to the nth power. I read that and wanted to physically hurt Mika. Yes, because that seemingly innocuous remark is the most disgusting defense of patriarchy. Female bodies exist for other people’s benefit, exploitation, and often pleasure, according to this. Well, nuh uh.

“This woman has a husband. A husband. She didn’t deserve this! HE didn’t deserve this! You’ve ruined her ... for him.”

Fucking THANK YOU. I’m a good person! I do good things! I hate injustice! I don’t need a fucking husband or kids to validate all of my feelings and experiences. Sick of over-privileged women using their platforms to remind the world that I am a lesser being because I have failed to procreate.

Of all the hot takes, this one annoyed me the most:

Yes, because Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Larry Wilmore and Hasan Minaj all gave such softball, unifying performances.

Why does it matter that she’s a woman and a mother?!!!! I’m so damn sick of celebrities using motherhood to wash away the horrible things they’ve done. Brezinski’s an idiot.

There is a lot of gross implications in what Mika said. It sounds like if a woman does what society expects they will be protected. Frankly, if that is the case it doesn’t apply to all women who are wives and mothers.

These women constantly make me rethink my eyebrows.
