So, did anyone admit IZ inspired the look and sound of the island?

Reminds me a little more of a bad American Hyperdrive. I bet if you looked at clips of Hyperdrive it wouldn't look funny, but it's actually really funny.

Do you mean this apology? (“This is really, really bad. It means, of course, that when I dismissed Richard Bradley and Robby Soave’s doubts about the story and called them “idiots” for picking apart Jackie’s account, I was dead fucking wrong, and for that I sincerely apologize. “) Or this one? Maybe it's some hybrid of Man-Bat's serum and the drug Venom used by Bane.

At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell

Iowa is a special case, though. Iowans may be conservative, but overall believe in staying out of each others' business (or at least they did when I lived there, it's been a while). Like a face hugger from Aliens... repulsive! How come - there should have been Aliens in Interstellar.

It'd be a little weirder if humans carried babies to term, gave birth to them, and then tiny adults chewed their way out of the babies.

The Cubs are now that guy that puts a huge, brand new TV in his shitty-ass unfurnished living room with nowhere to sit.

Well that 18M is based on 2008 Tim Lincecum, kinda the way that the money paid to Bobby Bonilla this year is based on 1991 Bobby Bonilla.
