The real problem is that Zach Snyder is a good guy who makes bad movies and has an awful toxic fanbase, and Joss Whedon is a bad guy who more or less makes good movies and has historically had a cool, diverse fanbase.

It’s interesting if you watch some of the interviews that came out of Justice League. Cavill, despite the horrendous mustache CGI, is basically the only cast member who went out of his way to praise anything about the Whedon version of the movie, and that was specifically to call out that he preferred to play Superman…

Star Trek has always been first and foremost a TV show, the movies have been largely a side hustle.

If it’s Hulu, that would mean we get on Disney+ here in Canada, which would a) be hilarious and b) get a bunch of people like my mom asking when Batman’s gonna join the Avengers.

That’s it right there. It’s not just that the Discovery execs want to make money, they want to make money with the *least amount of effort possible.* If you told these guys that they could make twice as much but would have to actually put in the effort of making quality content, they wouldn’t do it. Too much work.

To be clear, his fans still regularly harass anyone who says anything bad about Vic Mignogna who is colloquially known as the R. Kelly of Anime.  And it doesn’t help he sent out an email after the decision to his fans framing it as “they didn’t win, they denied me my rights” which has only fueled things further.
