Thanks for this well intentioned piece. I disagree with the broad statements about scales of how much religion oppresses people, since it also has been a force for human and civil rights and things like, say, communism and capitalism have done their fare share of damage, too. Not that you'd want to, but reading some…
I'm a theology grad student( Catholic...progressive) and to my surprise, I have found most of my professors have written on that topic at one time or another. Technically speaking, Catholics actually believe in and espouse religious freedom. As the Pope recently said, we believe God has a deeper, smarter plan than we…
Huh. Thanks. I have Crossover, so I will try to find a disc! I loved these games years ago.
Can it run on a modern Mac?
Dude, it was a good game. A fine game. But...come on.
Here's my question: Is the article really going to shed light on this guy and does any further light need to be shed? I thought the facts of his life sounded grindingly pedestrian and depressing without a lot of potential for me to learn about the human condition.
I think in cases like this, it should be written "Christian."
My feel is outrage is so deep, dark and dirty, I would not waste it on these media constructs. I'm going to go out and put it to work constructively.
This movie made me the cynic I am today. What an insulting film. The "New Yorky" working class cliche characters. Naming Broderick after the effects guy. Attacking Siskel and Ebert by making them characters in the film? If you're going to play with fire like this, then at least make a decent movie. Ugh. They stole…

Nah, the point is that Batman comics, cartoons and movies are all out there, constantly blasting the idea "dangerous mental patients" into pop culture and, therefore, the public's mentality. All Batman's rogues, even Bats himself, is portrayed as disturbed and dangerous. That messaging is inaccurate and wrong.
How "dark!"
Slow news week, huh?
I'm Catholic eight days a week. I'm a theology student. Sigh.
Sorry! I've been a big idiot with reading humor on the webz lately.
Huh...I wonder what a "rip off" of Transformers would actually look and feel like? De Toro has a heart and he has seen some real suffering in life, so I am not sure he could cheapen anything the way those clowns do.
No, we do have a culture of caring, but like any other group, we have institutional weaknesses, blind spots and make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes are epic in scope.
We're working on it. Stay tuned.
That doctrine has been around a long time. And, just as an FYI, Popes can't change doctrines and dogmas at will. That is a misconception.
