That song was stuck in my head for like, three weeks. It was what made me tell other people about the show
It’s like, I KNOW with my brain that other people have very real family drama that is very much more dramatic than this, but at the same time, I am so annoyed with them both. They are just very, very different people and cannot seem to work together at all, and I feel responsible, because I urged my mother (who…
It really said something when Stewart began to be held up as the paragon of media ethics. I mean that as a compliment to him and an insult to the rest of us.
i don't know how much of anything from S1 was real truth
reading these has been very nice and puts into perspective the very long, unnecessarily emotional conversation i had with my mother this morning about how my MIL isn’t doing anything at all for the baby shower my mother is throwing. In April. My mother is mad that my MIL hasn’t yet made the favors and decorations for…
It’s like, my favorite petty gripe with them. It’s my favorite way to feel superior. That and the obviously thinning hair, because those things obviously matter so much to them.
My ears tingled when Chidi reiterated Eleanor’s big moral breakthrough when they realized they couldn’t get into the Good Place because they knew about the points: We have to at least try.

Elsie Fisher is from Eighth Grade, not Hereditary.

its one click for me from npr to classical whenever they into a clip of him

The later episodes did a good job, I though, capturing her voice and internality without dwelling in her depressive nature there as much as the books did.
That is an entirely different incident that she writes about - it hasn’t happened yet in the show.... it’s all book 2, the incident and the writing about it.
I don’t think she ever tells anyone what happened on Ischia, at least not through Book 1 and 2 which is as far as I’ve read.
What is the point of any adaptation, really? It’s a chance to see what we’ve read come to life outside of our minds. It’s beautifully done, doesn’t let down the source material, and reframes it in a new medium. I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed the first book, because the first book was SO in Lenu’s head and Lenu’s…
