I have had a 911 since the early 2000's - they are all amazing - period. If I had to pick one 911 as a daily it would this Targa - in dark green. Just cool as hell.

As the owner of two Land Cruisers (one w/ 260K miles), I am the first to support old vehicles with durability. But this......just no. Way overpriced. I helped a friend by a similar year Yota pickup, but stock, for $3K. And it was in nicer shape. Too many other good options out there for $7500.
A Tahoe will never outlast a Landcruiser....ever. I own two Landcruisers and I am also intimately familiar with the GM product, as I did advertising for them for many years (got a pre production Hummer H2 (don’t laugh) 6 months b/f they went to production). Anyhow, I have driven my fair share of GM products over the…
You really have to own one to realize how overbuilt they are. I have a 100 and a 200. Everything you touch is thinker, better quality than you expect. The kicker for me was when I took the front door panel off my 100 - the wiring harness to the door was hilariously overbuilt. At that point I got it.....even the pieces…
I own a 100 and a 200. The 200 has waayyyy more power. Not even close. And still gets better gas mileage. I love the look of the 100 though. And you can get the 100 much cheaper. Both great, both reliable, both will work.
I drove the S first. I tried getting into a Panamera GTS first, but the wife complained about see out of it - which is a fair assessment. So we tried a Macan S. She loved it, I was intrigued by it. The S is totally fine from an power standpoint, until you drive a Turbo - and I am not a power whore. I think 300…
I have a Macan Turbo. My shifters don’t seem plastic at all. Very solid. The whole interior is beautiful. I also jumped b/t getting a GTS or Turbo (both CPO). I went with the Turbo b/c more usable power in the low end.
I am now daily driving my “new to me” CPO Macan Turbo. It does everything sooo well. My 911, which I have had since 01 isn’t getting the love it used to - mainly b/c the Macan is so capable and enjoyable to drive. The sport exhaust is amazing (as it is in my 911). It out accelerates and out handles most everything out…
Thats what I did. I few year old CPO Turbo. Love it. Not driving my 911 nearly as much now...
My dad bought a new one in 86. I drove it to my prom a few years later. He let me drive it often when my 626GT was down due to a testy MAF. I loved both of those cars so much.
Mostly correct. The 99 and before have very, very few failures. The IMS bearing was redesigned in 2000 from a double to a single row, and that is when all of the failures began. And yeah, the higher mileage cars with original IMS should be good - but I would still replace with a modified IMS if it was a 2000 an…
Exactly. Dual row bearings were replaced by single row in 2000 - and that is when everything went to hell. I had my IMS taken out of my 99 991 at 65k miles (about 30k of it tracking) and it was perfect. There are almost no measurable dual row failures. If you want piece of mind, but a pre 2000 or a 2009 and…
I love the layout in the Porsche. I knew where everything was after 5 minutes of tinkering. Once you know what buttons are there (options, options), it all makes sense. PLUS, you don’t have to dive into some stupid screen to get to the controls. Thanks Porsche for giving me my buttons.
They will still sell an absolute ton of them. Respectfully, a current Macan Turbo and 911 owner.
this is the hot take I came here for. exactly, and thank you.
How is this not 100% CP. $30K w/ 81k miles. Go find a stock one w/ less miles for similar #.
Time I have kept my current lineup:
This is the obvious and boring and correct answer. Fun and never breaks down.
I agree with the Chiron take - probably a minority here. I have grown tired of unattainable super cars (maybe I am jealous). It shouldn’t be hard to engineer a super car that costs $2million. Try making a more attainable sports car that does everything great. I never want for more performance than my 911 gives me - on…
