I was commuting about 40 miles in my 98 LC. It gets 12 mpg - on the highway. My wife’s 11 LC gets about 16 mpg. They can take the mileage easily, but you fill up the tank constantly.

I did just that two months ago. A CPO Turbo. It is faster than my 996, and handles better than it has any right to.
I have had a long list of BMWs - mostly 3 and 5 series wagons. I sold my last 3 series and bought a Macan Turbo. BMW’s reliability is terrible now. Porsche is consistently in the top three. My 911 has been nothing but reliable, even with constant tracking. After 20 yrs, I am done with BMWs, unfortunately. Regarding…
New owner of a 15 Macan Twin Turbo here - The real Turbo, not the S. I picked it up last month as a CPO with 44k miles for $45K. A reluctant CP on this S. A few $ too high.
Wait, no Landcruiser???
Heads up - I am biased because I own a Macan Turbo. The looks of the Jag are probably a little better than the Macan, the reliability and depreciation make it an absolute no go - not to mention the Macan has a better chassis. BMWs - I have had several over the years but gravitated towards the wagons as the X series…
No to your brake rotor comment. On a car like the Stinger, equipped with high performance calipers, it should have rotors which can handle and dissipate the heat without warping. I track my 911, which comes with calipers from the same manufacturer as the Stinger. After a 30 minute track session (on stock rotors),…
I have a Lexus LX570. I know Doug DeMuro recently slammed this car for a few worthy reasons - 3rd row seats, front grill, overall not as updated with technology. One I don’t agree with - the dash instruments (speedo, etc). He knocked the car because they are analogue - my argument is these cars are bought for…
Most of the suggestions I am seeing don’t work because the don’t fit a rear facing child seat. I had to sell our 3 series wagon and buy a 5 series wagon because there was absolutely no way anyone with arms and a torso could fit after you moved the driver’s seat forward enough (twins). Even with one kid, the passenger…
This instead. Porsche 944
I have an LX470 and a LX570. Love them both. I rented an Armada once, and prior to that looked at the QX when shopping for the LX570. I can say the Nissans are TERRIBLE. Just an awful cars. Both of them. I really wanted to like them, but just no, no, no. A shame. I remember how great Nissan was in the early 90s. …
Regarding the low seating position - this makes me remember our Enclave. It was a big vehicle that was very comfortable, but because you sat low, it was tough to get an idea of where the car began and ended. My wife thought she loved the Enclave, until I bought a used LX470 to tow my car to the track. She quickly…
Yep. 1999 is dual row IMS and have no measurable failure rate. I changed mine when I changed the clutch. It was still in perfect shape.
This above.
I remember in 1987 when my dad brought his home. Traded in an old 626 to get it. I drove it to my sr. prom in 1990. The convertibles are slow, but that engine loves to wind up. Was a delight to drive back then.
This is the only Colt you want. The Vista. My family had an 1985 model when I was young. Could seat 6 people easy. Mom traded it in for an 87 Cressida.....so I wasn’t broken up by its departure. Great hauler though.
I have done Skip B. 3 day racing schools at Lime Rock and Laguna Seca. The first one I did to prepare me for tracking my 911 with the PCA, and the second b/c I wanted to do Laguna in an open wheeled car.
We know where this is going. Trying out for the all time CP vote? Whoever voted NP on this is currently on CP.
This exactly....
Being a guy who started driving in the late 80's, I used to live off of car magazines. Probably had at least 10 subscriptions (including Rotary Rocket....anyone...anyone?). But now, into my 40's, I don’t rely on magazines like I used to. Except for my PCA mag I get monthly, everything is available NOW on the web…
