My forever car is also a 99 996. I bought it in 2001 certified used. 70K miles and many, many track days later, it still runs amazing. I have always said, try to pick another car/brand which can take that many miles, including track time (probably 20K are on track miles) without fail. Interior and exterior have held

The 924 GT is loved. The 924, not so much. Let’s move on.

To be clear, we had an Enclave prior to that. Put on 80K miles before it began to fall apart. My wife wanted another and I tried to talk her out of it (didn’t work). The new interior upgrade in the new Enclave was significant and probably was one of GMs best. But the Enclave drives BIG.

We had a brand new 2015 Buick Enclave. It was totally loaded and was probably the nicest interior GM made.

Agreed. My 99 996 has been very reliable, even with years of track days. But you have to use common sense and some research when buying one of these. There are a few issues that have to be investigated IMS, RMS, etc. These have to be done by someone other than the selling dealership. Yeah, the dealership is scum in

My mom had one of these when I was a kid. Was actually a decent car. Carried a ton of stuff.

Or the 1999 with a double row IMS. No measurable failure rate on those either.

99 996 owner here. Double row IMS - no measurable failure rate on it, per the stats. Porsche went to a single row sometime in 2000 - that is the one with issues. I have tracked my car since 2001, probably 40K miles of track and driving to and from tracks. Not one mechanical failure of any kind.

Exactly. My 98 LX470 with 235K on it is give this list a big middle finger. And my 11 LX570 with 120K (looking almost new) is standing right behind it. Both have aged better than my 11 BMW 3 series w/ 60K miles on it.

I have had 6 BMW’s over the years. First being an 87 5 series, with my current being an 11 3 series. BMW’s don’t like high miles. Even when you maintain the crap out of them. Suspension is probably shot - will need new control arms and bushings all around as well. Water pump is probably on the outs. Worn Guibo

This is awesome. Good for you flogging the LX570. I have an 11 LX570 and never thought of taking it off road - that is what my LX470 is for.

would I drive it...yep. would I pay that much for it....nope.

We have a 98 LX470 and a 2011 LX570. We will not get the new LX b/c of that grill. The LC will the choice next time.

I just took the race seats, harness bar, and race suspension off of my 911 and made it a daily driver again. Now the kids can actually get in the back and enjoy it. I have done Porsche track days for 15 years and loved it. They are well run. But now that I have kids, a brake failure, etc, is too much to think about

This. Thanks mom for letting me borrow it years ago.

Yes. This is what I came here for.

The seats scream YES, but my head says no. Sorry, CP.

So stupid. Do everyone a favor and feed some people instead. I love cars, and congrats on your Aston, but there is a point of absolute ridiculousness and we have reached it here my friends. So, so stupid.

I own one. It has been as reliable as my Land Cruiser. And way more so than my 3 series. The 911 actually takes very little to maintain - its schedule doesn’t require much (this isn’t an Italian car). The insurance is also not insane (unless you have a crappy driving record). Depreciation on a loaded on will hurt over

Good luck Toyota! Racing against no one this year. A solid check the box win for you against a bunch of the who’s who of LMP1 2018.
