Yup, loads of kids aren’t provided with them. I had to buy my own, the sort I could afford were those thick pads that were like a bag of tissue with a lump of cotton wool sliding around the middle. The chaffing was so bad I was regularly in detention for refusing to do PE as well, so free access to reasonable quality…
