I’m a big guy who has been in some mildly scary situations and was pshawing a bit at some of these stories (albeit not the non-supernatural ones especially not the last one) and thinking how hard it is to scare me (oh hubris...). So I walked into our dark bedroom to get my phone just as my wife loomed out of the

oh!! I have a good ghost story. Should have posted this one instead of what I did post but w/e.

I’m pleased that I have a spiritual Jungian therapist now who can cite Dylan, Cohen, Shakespeare, Christ, Buddha, the stoics, and Kabala in our exchanges. Stoicism, non-judging ,spiritual openness, and mindfulness (CBT) make a blend that’s working for my depression/anxiety. Cannabis too.

It’s not that his family lives in France, his family is in fact French. If you spent 20 years with a French partner and a bilingual child you would also be using words in this fashion.

Kids also loooove the idea of kids/babies being in charge and/or smarter than the grownups. That’s why that’s a recurring theme in all those movies you loved as a kid and your kids make you watch over and over and over and over.

Part of the problem is that we care more about the impact of his decisions than he does. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. We hired him to care on our behalf so we could watch Netflix and eat burritos. Instead he’s the one watching TV and eating shitty food while we agonize over the fate of our nation.

I know this is not entertainment news but the three Syrian families our mosque sponsored will not be coming to America as a result of the ban. They sold all their belongings, went through two years of grueling interviews and background checks and were at the airport in Istanbul Ataturk airport with their luggage and

Psych person here: Dissociative Identity Disorder is controversial, but not debunked. It’s mostly seen in individuals who experienced sexual abuse as children, as they dissociate to escape the trauma during.

It kinda blows my mind that Hannah Gold (and many others!) think our nation’s entire intelligence apparatus has a duty to reveal its sources and methods in a declassified report. I cannot think of a single instance that any intelligence agency did that. If that’s what she’s referring to, she’s absolutely correct: that

Jesus fucking christ if you don’t know anything about how Intel reports are written, maybe look into it before writing this shit. Terms like “high confidence” and “moderate confidence” ARE ACTUAL TERMS WITH SPECIFIC MEANINGS. It doesn’t mean “maybe”. It is also a DECLASSIFIED report, which means you don’t get to see

She just glosses right over the fact that the public report is declassified material. Does she assume the classified versions also don’t “divulge any evidence”?

Nodding in agreement and bumping. This is really irresponsible shit right here.

Thank you for your very thorough takedown which includes sources. Way more informative then the article!

This article is pretty strange to read on Jezebel, honestly. The tone, the weird framing (the statement that the report just repeats allegations that the Democrats made during the campaign- What??), but particularly the underlying completely dishonest statement that the intelligence agencies have provided no evidence.

The NYT has been fine, on these reports anyway. It was a particularly bad write-up for Hanna.

Well said. There’s really no excuse for someone who has decided to write an article on this not to have done some basic background work. I enjoy this site but things like this definitely help tip the scales towards “blog” rather than “journalism.” This piece in particular is bumping dangerously up against the fake

(or she)

It’s not the person who wrote the NYTimes article, it is Hannah who doesn’t understand the NYTimes reporting or what an intelligence analysis is. She’s using a follow up article about Russia’s response as the basis for this garbage. The NYTimes has a whole collection of articles on the intelligence report and this

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wow. This is a total garbage article. Jezebel really needs to rethink its political reporting- really, really not good. Let’s look at the NYTimes. Oh look. Literally the second bullet point front page main points of the article without even clicking on the article itself:
