To those who have been agnostic about vaccines (for lack of time or lack of money):
To those who have been agnostic about vaccines (for lack of time or lack of money):
I think some people, myself included, are concerned about the effects on people who cannot be vaccinated. My little sister was one of those people (immunocompromised), and herd immunity was what protected her.
It's not the rich, Doug. It's the uninformed and the stupid. I mentioned vaccinations to one of my cousins (a California resident, and one at the poverty level, mind), and she said, "Oh. Well, I forgot to vaccinate Little Cora, but she's just fine."
Her blog says she's of Egyptian heritage, fwiw.
I see what you're saying and agree that its a cool thing— but its a little racist to imply that she otherwise might never have a chance? She's obviously a talented photographer and was, I'm sure, selected for her talent and not her race, yeah? I dunno, it bugs me a little that when we see a professionally successful…
I don't believe her. There is NOTHING Madonna wouldn't have done or said to get attention early in her career. If this were true, we'd have known about it for 30 years already.
Was never a huge Madonna fan but as a 22 year old living in a big city across the country away from my family for the first time, this is very inspiring to me.
Didn't Madonna laugh at/mock one of her staffers after she discovered that she had been drugged and raped in Truth or Dare?
Thank goodness she took the test. We need more women in computer science, and would get by just fine without any more cheerleaders.
I was also a cheerleader in high school, and after breaking my hand (in practice) I was told that I still had to attend every practice to sit and watch. I ended up quitting and going to an all star team (non school team) and the coach sent everyone an email saying she didn't think I had really broken anything because…
Seriously, being offensive doesn't automatically mean they have some deep revolutionary message we all need to hear. If someone was masturbating on my lawn, I'd turn the hose on them. Have sex. Masturbate. Whatever. Just don't do it in my goddamn yard.
"owning your sexuality" is not the same thing as having a wank on someone else's lawn. it's just being a disgusting ass while breaking a number of laws.
Her public attempt to call down mental illness as a curse on the pop star she's beefing with seems so completely inappropriate, plus it totally undermines her entire argument.
$5 says Moiley (typo and it stays) rips up a picture of Sinead at the end of her "performance" on Saturday Night Live. Who's with me?
Because there's NO WAY Sinead staged a giant publicity stunt centered around the most talked about person in music right now so that we might, um, talk about Sinead again, right? No, this had absolutely no upside for her. /sarcasm
God, I cannot imagine what it must be like to not be in control of one's own external identity, and being manufactured, used, and disposable to those who (literally, in the case of Briney's conservator issue) are controlling their lives. It's so fascinating and sad, especially in light of the open letter Sinead…
Oh, your wife is a racist?
