What? Been an Alfa guy for 30 years. We like our sport sedans to have manuals. Just want the option.
Damn I had a nice reply typed out and my page refreshed! Here’s a summary
My buddy got one. I have to say it's the first modern car where I think I could get over the stick thing to own it.
Haven’t been burnt by my 4C yet, and I’m 2 years in on a car that is now 5 years old. Just regular maintenance. Drives and looks like nothing else on the road!
And that is the real tragedy here... the GTA/GTAm are cool I suppose... but they are only making 500. I would have rather seen a GTV reach production instead of this.
Yep. This is what makes it cool! They helped design this one as with the original. I have huge respect for Alfa for actually making this, and for FCA for allowing them to! It’s no GTV but damn it’s cool that the already poor-selling QV gets a track version. It’s the embodiment of the illogical passion that the brand…
As an Alfisti, I love that this is back. Having driven a GTA, they are magical.
Its anecdotal but my Brother-in-law has a Giulia Ti Sport and loves it. He is at 40k miles and the only trip to the dealership was his fault. He has let me drive it a couple times and it drives wonderfully. I can see why people risk it, it is truly a great drivers car.
Top is the Quadrifoglio Verde, required on any Alfa, especially fast or racing cars.
Well, I’ll tell you how it is next Saturday when I’m going to drive the track. It’s the first public opening since they started remodeling last year. Looking forward to the changes they made (turn 3 was always banked, but it’s steeper now).
I mean, that’s beside the point though, because a modern Malibu doesn’t have the character of a Chevelle. You can always point to certain metrics like “a V6 Camry is faster than a Miata”, but that doesn’t make it a better enthusiast car. You have to take everything into account, not just a few cherry-picked metrics.
GM has always been a “do it for as cheap as we can legally get away with” kind of company, even way, way back in the early 1900s. Hell, the only reason AC Delco exists is because Durant was too cheap to pay to keep Albert Champion’s name, so they just took his initials after copying his designs, while he went off to…
The knobs are a consideration in buying a GTI now instead of waiting for the new model.
Mk 7.5 manual owner here. Yes on the power. Yes on the plaid. Yes on the manual. NOOOOOO on everything else! Especially touchpad screens instead of knobs and dials. GAH!
I mean, it’s pretty clear you weren’t buying an Audi before this discussion anyway.
