I look forward to test driving the MK8, but I strongly suspect that this new dashboard will keep me firmly in my MK7. I hate touch screens with a passion, and the only thing worse than a touch screen are these idiotic touch buttons.

It’s like a sedan but more practical without the drawbacks of a crossover. Not a deep concept.
Slightly used M240 is the proper answer to this question. Ideally it would be an M2, but if you can’t find one in your budget go M240 with some upgrade.

“Crown cut” sounds fancy but it’s just the normal way that boards are sawn from a log. Quarter sawn is actually more expensive because it’s more complicated and creates more waste, but it gives you a different grain pattern which is sometimes preferred. Quarter sawn boards are also more dimensionally stable.
