Re: Maserati

Maseratis are made to look and sound good, and drive well enough. Comparing a Ghibli to an S5 misses the point for me. Audi is the embodiment of understated luxury. But the Ghibli would put a bigger smile on my face when I saw it in my driveway each morning.

Yep. I-pace owner here, and I had a (non refreshed interior) e-pace as a loaner for a few days. It is truly an uninspired car in every single way possible, and I couldn't wait to give it back.

Y’all know that nobody who buys any of these cares what the poors think, right?

My brother is an enthusiast and bought a Ghibli around the same time I bought my S5 a few years ago (both brand-new, so this is quite comparable). Now the reasoning behind the Ghibli for him was actually pretty reasonable, given that Maserati has been a dream car for basically half his life and he worked really hard

At one of my last jobs, our accountant traded in his convertible PT Cruiser on a CrossCabriolet. Needless to say, his taste in vehicles was pretty much crap.

It’s fine, you didn’t need to give me a citation for my suggestion you picked. It’s fine. No seriously, it’s fine. IT’S FINE

Tonight at 5: a bunch of people who can’t afford expensive car’s lament about the prices of expensive cars.

Yeah, the E-Pace is sad. I am really liking my F-Pace though!

That grandstand has an awesome view. I’d struggle to think of a better spot for this track. Hopefully next year we actually get a race there..

Finally, a Ford that can ford.

Wow, I’m not gonna lie, seeing the chalet being torn down was upsetting. :-(

Where’s the giant fan?

It’s like people don’t realize that all used cars were new at some point...

Which coupe cost 6 grand?

QOTD has been a thing at Jalopnik for over a decade (on and off).

I liked jalopnik’s articles better when they told me things, then we commented about the validity of that claim. This crowdsourcing of content is getting old.

This is hilarious and vaguely comforting. You need a minivan, not an SUV. Don’t buy an SUV.

The mk1 BMW Cooper S is really interesting. I still look at them sometimes, even though they are bit heavy on maintanace at this point. The supercharger doesn’t last forever nor does the electrics. But it’s prettiest and most desirable of these modern Minis.

After testing every “driver’s car” I could find under $80k, new & used, I settled on a 2010 Cooper S Clubman with a six-speed manual. What you say is precisely true. In fact, an acquaintance of mine bought and tracked a GT3 RS. Not long after he bought a Mini S for a “fun car” to daily drive. A year later he sold the
