According to the Hyundai website, the car has 7 air bags:

Motor1's article says there are 7 airbags, plus all the standard modern safety features like lane keeping assist and what not. Which I assume is why it starts at $12k and not the $8k that it was hyped for in Korea. They cut costs mostly in the labor department, by outsourcing to a company that pays $35k/year-ish

F for us Indians. :(

americans thinking small cars make them less masculine.”

not sure how many takers in the US. two engines 80hp and 100 hp. 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto. the “12k msrp” is likely the 80hp engine with the 5 speed manual and realistically that configuration would not be available in the us if they sold it here. don’t know what he upcharge is for the bigger engine and what the

If it’s a stick-shift, the previous bro-dude owner can’t drive for shit. Budget for a new clutch.

Your rationale is rational.

On the subject of low mileage cars being good... the way I look at it is that I want there to be lowER mileage... but not so low that it’s an indication that the car sat for a long time without being driven. 10,000km to 15,000 per year is good.

Only thing manuals might extend the life of is your brakes. And being awesome.

This thing is incredibly ugly. Hyundai seems to go through periods of tasteful, good-looking vehicles and total abominations. This is the latter. It’s so disappointing we get something like this, but not the much better Elantra N (i30 N).

That thing is so fugly it makes the MKVIII GTI look like a beauty pageant winner.

Palou has been incredibly impressive this year. Takes ice in the veins to bang out a pole at a track you’ve never been to, vs 26 others cars, when you desperately need a pole to win a championship.

I would be if Hyundai had deemed the U.S. market worthy of it.

Not AWD apparently.

I am 6'4 and fit in the regular kona with room to spare. I imagine you would fit fine.

This part right here… this is the biggest pile of horse shit in this whole plan. Why does the type of vehicle matter when it comes to the price cap? This feels like it was clearly written by the lobbyists.

The union thing is shitty.  Period.

Sophisticated in relation to the Ecosport I guess. Anyway the Puma got good reviews and it sells well - much better than the Fiesta here which should be good news for its maker.

Coming soon, the Bronco Sport II.
