4th Gear: In all my travel in EC, it was always the English kids that are always drunk and loud. Never saw anybody else doing the problems.

Interestingly, the main market for VSPs is not so much older people in the country and small towns who haven't got a licence but rather those who had licences but lost them for drink driving. You can hire a VSP for the duration of your ban.

and mopeds are faster. 1986 Honda Elite 50 went about 50% faster than this thing.

As i already posted on another answer on this post : at least in France they do require a license to be driven (along with mopeds) that require to pass a theoretical training then a 8 hours practical training (https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F2890?lang=en).

They have been allowed to drive 50cc mopped, motorbikes and scooters for decades and they are all limited to the same speed (45kph).

Not sure why you’re so thrilled about this thing. From an environmentalist perspective, which is nominally what these articles are written with, this competes with bicycles, buses, and motorcycles, not cars. With a max speed of 27mph and no crumple zone, this is not taking cars off the streets, it’s replacing

I don’t care. I don’t care that this is never coming to America, either; this is a negativity-free zone.

Not a pantaloons dropper.

I sold my heavily modded SH Forester XT and placed my order as soon as the MK4 FoST Estate SLS Edition came out. It’s a Taiwan specific limited number run of 100 (for now, so we are told) that’s about 50kg lighter than the standard Estate by removing the huge sunroof, the power rear hatch, the HUD, the B&O sound

I wonder how many people know the purpose of coil overs?

This. I used to buy an almost obscene number of car magazines in the 90s and, even then, it was pretty consistently a 1:1 real world conversion regardless of the dollar:pound ratio. So, this would really be about $35k for this special edition. Real world regular ST would probably be a few grand more than the last. I

Also, this is a more expensive special edition. Also cars cost more there.

I think you are forgetting they advertise with VAT included. If you exported from the UK this without registration it wouldn’t have VAT. I believe if you import a US car into the UK you pay VAT on it anyway. So the prices are way closer real world.

“At current conversion rates, this new ST starts at $49,086. At that price, maybe it’s best it stays across the pond.”

Even though I’m very happy with my 2018 Mazda3, I’m STILL bitter that Ford canceled this generation of Focus ST for the US. I had money ready for it and was asking friends who were working on the vehicle about all the details. I can still remember the day my manufacturing friend warned me of the announcement to cancel

Meanwhile, at TFSport:

1.5" doesn’t even count as a lift.  This is the laziest wagon variant I’ve ever seen.  It’s not even about image, because it looks just like the base model.

I did! Or at least I did for a couple of years. I actually quite liked it, even though it was very much a compromise car - not as fast as a dedicated sports coupe, or as fuel efficient as a full on hybrid. But - it was fun.

Then what you need is an AMG model that you will never take on the autobahn. /s

Our headlight beam pattern is different, I think our emissions standards are stricter in one area while Europe’s are stricter in another. We also don’t tax on displacement while a lot of Europe does. I wouldn’t be surprised if noise refs were different.
