I am sorry, but I cannot agree with anything on that list. What would you need more power for in a Miata? I have the NA with the 1.6 90hp engine (facelift EU) and it is plenty fun and gets up to 170km/h on the Autobahn if needed. But you do not drive a car like that at those speeds anyway, the car is precisely fun

the miata does not need more power you philistines! its a light agile drop top thats easy to work on. you want to ruin all that with your insecurities over power?

Ah, forget the horsepower. The Toyota Tacoma needed an entirely different cabin. A few years ago, I (6'5") was dead set on buying a Tacoma and went into the dealership for a test drive. HATED the seating position - I’ve since heard similar complaints from other tall drivers. Too bad; they make good products, just not

All Volvo C30(s) and S40(s) with the T5 drivetrain can get the Polestar tune from a Polestar certified Volvo dealership which will not void the warranty (if you happen to still have a warranty on a C30 or S40). This brings power of the Volvo siblings up to 250 HP giving the C30 a better power to weight ratio than the

The Fiero didn’t necessarily need more power as such. At least not much more (the MR2 had 112 hp, 145 with supercharger). It needed better engines though.

Losing a drag race to a  Sinclair C5.

Where’s the Changli?

fuck the costumer

I don’t think most EV buyers care that much about how many days of commuting they can do. As long as you have a home charger, it’s just a question of bothering to plug it in or not.

Love this idea - just give me a min/max range and I’ll know what I can do with it.

I would only add for your Max cycle, test it in the cold too. With windows down and heat on.

If I had one gripe, diagonal movements, like shifting from third to fourth,

I think it can easily be boiled down into two numbers to form the range:

Volvo would like their Tundra back.

Given I live in Maine and Florida, I want the hot and cold numbers separately, not an average of the two. Cold makes WAY more of a difference than hot - A/C is more efficient than heating, since you are typically only cooling by 20-30F or so vs potentially heating by 80F plus.

I’m not opposed to that. Most modern EVs have about a 10 Changli range.

This is ridiculous. The proper way to measure EV range is in Changlis.

Get a Tiguan?

I love that they put a graph there to show you the dip it torque is approaching.

This car will never make sense for spreadsheet wars. It’s made to be fun from the ground up, and RWD+low weight is the only way to have the kind of fun this car provides.

If you “enthusiasts” want to see this car continue to exist, leave all your financial sense and logic behind and go buy one new. Borrow, barter, and loan using whatever means you can put up including but not limited to hard labor and body parts.
