I can understand, I too like the smooth and linear power delivery of normally aspirated engines (especially of 6 or 8 cylinders) but I once had the opportunity to drive a 330i E90 and a 328i F30. The big six was lovely, but the modern four would easily make mince meat of the older 3 litre car.

The Peugeot 508 is a good example. No one wants a saloon so they are making sporty and stylish see if it works better.

Exactly everyone is talking about the sedanpocalypse but what about the coupepocalypse? Or the sportscarcalypse?

Good point.

Just reached 84,000km and still going strong! 😉

On the other hand, if you were in a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S you’d probably be far more impressed... 😉

All cool kids making estates cool are in Europe. They are so cool that Kia is, for instance, not offering one estate on the Ceed range, but two.

Raise fuel prices to $7 a gal. Sedanpocalypse finishes. The end.

In Europe.

This, my Alfa Romeo can do some light off roading if you are a bit careful. No need for this (for most people).

I do not understand the appeal of those estate cars on stilts. Surely the point of an estate car is having the cargo space with good driving dynamics. So why ruin the handling jacking it up? If you want height just buy a CUV/SUV/whatever.

I don’t understand the reserves about this sales model, we Europeans have been buying cars like this for decades without any issue.

This is the way cars have been selling in Europe for decades and we have no trouble in negotiating prices.

Not the latest turbos though. VAGs 1.5 litre turbo engine has 150bhp but 185ft-lbs. Those engines are punchy.

In the UK and in Europe probably.

What do you drive? 😏

Rover V8.

My aunt has a Smart Forfour Turbo. It has 90bhp. It has no trouble keeping up with traffic and merging into motorways or normal roads. It can even cruise at 80-85mph.

I also think that the first and second gen A-Classes were more interesting (in the same way that the A2 was), but the third A-Class while a conventional car still has something.

I guess I didn’t recognise the name.
