Race aside, I feel like you might have a problem if you get pulled over frequently enough to need one of these...

star for fellow New Hampshirite

Agreed. I’ve only driven an Impreza of the same era (2013) with the 5-speed and it was pretty dismal. My best description of a Subaru shifter is like stirring a bucket of rocks with a stick. I can only imagine that everything would be worse in a Crosstrek given its additional ride height and floppier suspension. I had

I do this with my K24Z7, no torque under 4,000 rpm to speak of, plus it’s insanely fun to rev out!

I’m very surprised to see the Golf Sportwagen on this list. I feel like I see tons of them around here (New England). I’m guessing this doesn’t include the alltrack though. I’m guessing dieselgate has something to do with these numbers, the majority that I see seem to be diesels

how does this not have more stars?

My neighbor had one of these, with a manual, that he somehow got to 350,000+ miles before he traded it in on a 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback 6MT. Probably the best decision he’s ever made. I’ve spent probably more time than I should have wondering how he drove that car for 350,000 miles....

This really is a beautiful car, in wonderful condition. The price is just a bit too high. If this were in the $6-8k range, sure. CP

Agree 100% about the range. My wife recently picked up a 2015 Dieselgate Golf TDI. This has become our only car for longer trips. 600+ miles per tank. I used to own a MKIV which I once drove from New Hampshire to Ohio (~760 miles) and still had a bit less than 1/4 tank when I arrived. Incredible.

My dad had a 1993 Tercel, and I distinctly remember that he put one of those fake switches in there labeled “flamethrower”

the only MKIV you want is one with the ALH TDI motor and a 5 speed.

I drove the Civic Hatch and that was a much more exciting car. 1.5T is pretty responsive. Mazda 3 is the next one on the list

My mother is looking for a new car, and asked me to check out a few options. The new Corolla Hatchback was one of them. I have to say, I was utterly disappointed. I drove both manual and CVT versions, and both were terrible. Why do reviews keep saying it is “fun to drive”? What is their bar for fun? The most beige car

I’ve got some gift card money, and I’ve been watching for Sonos deals, but unfortunately I can’t use them toward this because the order contains a gift card, bummer!

I’m surprised not to see the VW TDIs on this list. My wife and I recently bought one over a new Jetta almost entirely because of the warranty. Not only are they offering a 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty for certified cars (which ours is) in addition to the TDI warranty (11 years 162k from new) the pricing is

This is the classiest thing I’ve ever seen

the color is called Great Falls Green Metallic, and it is fantastic.

Two pedals.

Polyurethane dogbone (transmission pendulum) mount on a MK4 Jetta TDI. Interior nearly rattled itself apart. Needless to say, it went back to stock after a short period.
