The fact that you responded to my response and are calling me names means you have thin skin. Grow up and take the heat. Be an adult, yeesh.

Yes, I will compare the most popular hero character in Asia with Eva... Because Eva is just an homage to Ultraman.
You don’t know much about Eva if you don’t understand it’s one big sendoff to Ultraman (which is so huge entire sections of Tokyo are dedicated to him). Ultraman has films, anime, games, manga, events…
The fact that you responded means you have pretty thin skin when it comes to someone not liking something you enjoy. . .
She just didn’t look Egyptian. And I spat my milk when I saw the Eye of Horus makeup and the hair bands. Like, really? What is this, mummies alive?
She just didn’t look like what actual Egyptian women look like. For starts a lot have curly hair, majority are short and broad, etc.
I’d argue it’s the other way around. I mean, Anno was inspired by Godzilla when making Eva.
“Except Eva is still being discussed more then a decade after its airing and none of those series are”
What are you on? Ultraman (a series about a big hero fighting monsters and the main inspo for Eva) has been popular for over 50 years and still ‘talked about.’
Don’t confuse your narrow pop culture view with “relevancy.…
“Pharah is an Egyptian woman, and Lucio is a Brazilian DJ”
This cracks me up. Just because they’re represented doesn’t mean they’re good. I’m Egyptian and I completely facepalmed at the Egyptian characters. And my Brazilian friends were genuinely offended by Lucio. . .
I tried Assassin’s Creed Origins for 3 hours and bailed. I didn’t enjoy a minute of it.
Mind you, it was pretty close to after I beat BotW but still. . . I expected to have SOME fun!
“explores the role of religion in shaping a society.”
Does it actually explore it, or does it explore it with the grace and tact you’d expect from a video game?
I was much more impressed by Godzilla and Shazaam (especially Godzilla. Hot damn.), but I’ll give this film a chance if it can strike a strong emotional chord. The visuals look fantastic.
always my personal favourite:
The button layout is odd, but this is a pleasant surprise. When I first heard of this last year I assumed it was a mini console like the NES classic. This is way cooler and will look awesome on my desk.
It could also be that Arc makes anime-style fighters. Capcom and Netherealm specifically try to create projects visually and thematically appealing to a western audience. Their mileage varies, but it definitely affects the total number of western players in each game.
True. Still holding out hope for more amiibo integration like luigi armor or some dumb shit like that
Is this the horse armor of this generation?
Praise the sun gesture shouldn’t cost $13...
Great conversation!
However, on your criticism of people’s criticism of female bodies in games, I think it’s a bit of an oversimplification that those people just “don’t like those female bodies”- I think its that there is a very small scale of female (and, for that case, -male-) bodies that video games feel are…
I finally booted up Origins the other night.
One of the worst UX/UI experiences I’ve ever had. And the game was pretty boring to boot and filled with crummy sidequests. After a few hours I decided to sell it. I’m disappointed.
I find it fascinating that he said all this instead of just making a generic statement. I wonder if his fans will be more understanding thanks to this.
It also shows Bayonetta, disappointingly, with her bayo 1 hairdo.
Also when the hell is this supposed to take place?
This looks pretty jank tbh. Stiff animations, unimpressive art... I’ll wait before I get excited... This reminds me more of Mighty No. 9 than anything else...
