Rug, maybe? They do treat Nissan like a doormat around here.

And as good looking as a VW Arteon.

Ooops. That’s not the Arteon ... here it is:

What does this do better for $46K than a Telluride? Handle a little better on a curvy road? A couple of MPG better, maybe?

Stellantis needs to look no further than its own rich corporate history for names ... Le Jeep, Alliance, Encore, Colt, Champ, Arrow, Conquest, Vista, Summit, Talon, Scamp, Rampage and Cricket to name just a few evoke a strong sense of American pride.

I guess I’m over “vacation destination names” as they seem as interchangable as the SUVs.

But do you think it’s the majority? The hypothesis offer in the headline was that MPVs/pretend SUVs “critically” need AWD. My argument is that there’s plenty of folks buying FWD SUV/CUVs. And definitely the majority of the mini-van sold are FWD.

But again, outside of the snow belt, is the the majority? Heck, even in the snow belt, is it the majority? When I think of all my SUV driving relatives in Iowa and Nebraska ... I don’t think any of them have AWD excluding the two Subarus. (Admittedly, we’re a notoriously cheap lot so that skews the sample. And

Every trim line comes with power doors.  Push the button on the b-pillar which is what I do on both of my vans.  At least for me, it just falls more readily to hand.

In my vans and cars (even my 1981 stripper hatch back) when you leave a dome or map light on, it goes off after a few minutes to save the battery.

I’m aware of that ... but they didn’t call the K9000 the K9 because there was at least some appreciation that names are colored by local usage.

I’d argue that this was more substance than style. No cladding ... and a legit lift! And going from RWD to 4WD made this the real deal.

I wonder if they even offer it without power doors. I close all of my sliders either with the remote or the button on the b-pillar -- which is closer at hand then even a door handle at the front of the door.

I’m a multi-van owner too. I’d say 95% of the time, I open the door with the fob as I walk up. Seriously, it would be a a help step to the right to pop that door handle. Or skip the handle and put a soft button on the b-pillar.

One more because I’m wasting time I should be spending on actual work.

I see Nine Inch Nails every time I see the new logo.

Plenty of average American consumers driving FWD SUVs. I’ve always assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the majority of SUV/CUVs sold are FWD. I’m sure if varies by brand (and some are exclusively AWD) but in the everyday world of Escapes, RAV4s, CR-Vs, Equinoxes, etc. do most people really opt to spend the extra money

If you squint, it looks like the refresh of the first generation Caravan/Voyager.

I’m going to back Mercedes here. The additional disclosure of damage to the fuselage is news worthy relative to what steps airlines and countries choose to take. If not from an engineering standpoint, at least from a public perception standpoint. And public confidence matters. (Just read some of the comments.)

I’m guessing more of an SRT, TRD sort of thing.
