I’m in my thirties now, so during his presidency, my childhood, I thought things were more or less working as they always did. It would be be years until I understood that I was born at a moment of great historical shifts.

I never saw Stone’s movie, but I’m very interested in how they compare. Even just from the trailers, this looks much less sympathetic to the subject.

As someone who got into Image Comics recently, it’s pretty amazing how little their nineties output is reflected in their current one.

Trump’s attacks of the press and civil rights wouldn’t be possibly without W doing his “if you don’t support me the terrorist win!” schtick for years.

Looks up cast, Sam Rockwell’s playing GWB? I feel safe they’re leaning into his more smug qualities as opposed to doing a dumb rich guy. And Carrell as Rumsfeld? I really have no idea where they’re going with this.

Moonlighting got hit with a perfect storm of complications including both the stars having medical conditions they needed to work around, the series creator/show runner being fired, and the longest writers strike in WGA history. So much more than just “they didn’t know how to write for them as a couple.”

Now I’m thinking of whoa whenever I’ve watched something about behind the scenes with muppets the number of puppet masters at any given time is more than expected. I wouldn’t want to be drunk or hungover in that situation either.

I haven’t read it yet, but I really hope it is a sequel to their earlier Joker.

I could see that being the the case. It’s success led to an increase in both the amount of gross out humor and more over the top bad behavior in protagonists. Generally the results didn’t have a similarly over the dangerous goofiness that Something About Mary did, so the results became less digestible.

Also, as the GOP’s complete disinterest in standing up against most of his policies demonstrates, a lot of is his monstrousness is in line with with the right wing has been doing for decades.

20 years on, I’m more furious with the ways it was treated as an entertaining yarn than I was at the time.

Well he did play a podcast host on Mozart in the Jungle. (I only watched the first season, bot now I really want someone to discuss how that role fits with his spectrum of nerds.)

The podcast does a good job of starting with how Lewinsky wasn’t someone who had “nothing to loose” and didn’t choose to go public with it.

So that would mean they dated slightly after his divorce from Rita Hayworth?

I’ve mostly cut back my comic book reading to only creator owned titles, but The Sandman was what got me into comics (and in general, why I prefer DC of the big two) so I bought the first issue. I mostly liked it. I haven’t read the whole Metal series so I had no idea about how it influence Daniel to give up the

As someone who didn’t know much about Spider-Man before the Raimi movies came out, the organic versus mechanical web debate is pretty wacky.

Odd thing to say while he’s promoting a movie in which he plays David Duke.

Part of what made Tom King even approaching the wedding was the fact that the previous two long term head Batman writers (Grant Morrison and especially Scott Snyder) had really little use for Catwoman. Which is to say, I agree with you.

I’m currently on a super hero break, but I haven’t gotten over how underwhelming this creative teams second arc of Lady Killer was. The two page wordless fight scene here reminded me of the very long and gory murder in the the first issue of that and how that made me wonder “what’s the appeal?”

In the interest of possibly calling Murphy’s bluff about wanting it to be all of history Feud: Moliere vs Lully, or Feud: Newton vs Hooke.
